Went for afternoon tea for the partner's birthday and had a nice time. Lovely building and service was great with the staff accommodating someone with celiac disease and a vegetarian.
Being the vegetarian, I did feel the afternoon tea was a little uninspired with nearly all the items listed on the menu not being what you actually got (this is stated as potentially being the case on the menu). One sandwich was actually just smoked salmon, which obviously isnt vegetarian, and one was plain cucumber and butter, so paying £32 a head seems a little unjustified. No complaints from the meat eater or celiac sufferer though. As others have said, the afternoon tea does way heavily towards the sweets, which are incredibly sweet. You will have a sugar coma after this.
Overall, while the tea is overpriced and a tad uninspired, the general experience was a good one. A little more thought towards the menu would make this worth the money.
