Used to be one of my favorite coffee stops in new haven :( Im not sure if its due to the opening of the second location or the switched focus to being a brunch spot but this place has seriously gone downhill. This location is either overpopulated or understaffed. constantly a line out the door and staff ushering you to the full service dining area. Much less vegan/gluten free baked goods on rotation than they used to have. The coffee has fantastic potential as it is made with different GIV beans (a local roaster) that have both great blends and single origins. however due to the franticness of the staff, syrups in lattes remain unstirred, turkish coffee is much weaker than before, teabags stay in when you order tea and often break in your togo cup, and the espresso the last few times i got it had a strong metallic taste. The prices have gone up a lot (as has everywhere) but are now more in line with a midclass brunch spot than a coffee shop who has snacks and breakfast options. unfortunately the food isnt on par with the price and youre better off going to bellas across the way. (theyll both have lines out the door) truly sad as staff used to be so welcoming and the atmosphere and decor and couches make you want to stay all day! Would only go back to purchase whole beans sadly

So this is the place i go to while my car is getting repaired as my mechanic is a couple of blocks away. I mention this because not all places will let you hang out with your laptop/phone while only having a cup of coffee or danish. When I go I have breakfast a la carte. The food is good but its middle eastern food so don't go looking for a steak. The dessert offerings are plentiful, colorful and a little pricey but you won't be able to ignore them. The decor is classy yet welcoming. The staff are friendly but I have had moments where things didn't go quite right. They are mostly breakfast/brunch/lunch even they're open late(til 9) some days. They have vegan and gluten free options. They have a nice variety of coffees and teas. I'm one of those boring people who finds something they like and sticks with it (drip coffee with a cardamon shot) but there are some many other things to try...one day.

Another great lunch! Delicious salad, food is tasty, the fries are better than truffle fries! Mariam and Mohamed are so kind. Every time I go to this special restaurant, they never disappoint! And they have Gluten Free options! Thank you
