I went here with my husband prior to going to a gig in Shrewsbury. I had been a year or so previously and knew they were gluten free friendly.
Firstly the service was dreadful. We were left sitting at our table for some time and eventually had to chase around to find someone who was willing to take our order. The starter arrived within a reasonable time, but there was a 40 minute wait for our pizzas. Again we had to chase around to find someone to ask about our meal. Eventually we were told they would put our pizzas in the oven as soon as the next lot came out. The pizzas eventually arrived, but at that point we were already late for the gig and knew we would miss a good part of the concert.
My husband said his pizza was OK, however my gluten free pizza was awful. The base was really soggy and tough. It was so dense and leathey in texture that I could not cut it. It tasted like sawdust and looked undercooked. No one asked us if our meals were OK and we could not find anyone to complain to. As so much time of our time had been wasted, eventually we quickly paid and left.
I was very disappointed in both the food and service and will not go back to Pizza Express.
