Portarlington Grand Hotel

Nice rooms and great staff, but It felt a bit overpriced for a spruced up old hotel. The staircase and floorboards squeak, and the rooms were not very soundproof. The front door needs improving its heavy, and the closing mechanism needs superman to hold it open while trying to squeeze your suitcase through. It is ideally located in the main street with everything close by. We had breakfast in the restaurant and would recommend very nice, they even have gluten-free options, just ask the wait staff

I went here for lunch recently for the first time. Lovely done up pub with nice staff, however the food was incredibly disappointing. I asked for the eggplant parmi to be gluten free and got chips on the side they brought out half an extremely undercooked eggplant with some sauce on top. Super disappointing! The chips also weren't great. My mum wasn't stoked with her meal either and especially considering the price of both meals it didn't coincide with the quality. Lovely views of the ocean from where we sat which was sadly interrupted when they started blasting early 2000s stripper music. What could have easily been an awesome pub sadly is not.
