Amazing service and ambiance! However the food has room for improvement and was a bit underwhelming - Coleslaw - unique flavour, tasted celery 5/10 Chicken Liver - interesting to serve room temperature, not what you’d expect but not bad 6/10 Onion Bread - bread was okay, butter was good, butter would be nice warmed 5/10 Chicken - 6.5/10 fresh but nothing special Fries - 6 okay, nothing special Gravy - 4/10 perhaps it being gluten free made the flavour a bit different, wasn’t the most complimentary to the fries and chicken in my opinion Chicken Wing Appetizer - 6/10 good… but nothing special, the mustard is a nice contrast

A score of 3/5 (3.5) for this new neighborhood restaurant, which has a lot of potential and which could become an essential address by improving on certain points. The place has a lot of charm, the atmosphere is very pleasant and the decoration sober but refined, the room is very busy (perhaps too much?) which makes circulation sometimes difficult, and the noise level a little high, but I imagine that this is intended for this neighborhood rotisserie which wants to be welcoming. Regarding the reception, despite a reservation we waited almost 30 minutes standing. The few seats at the entrance are a good idea, but after a while the customers piled up and we blocked the way. We were initially a little disappointed not to have received anything for the wait (a drink for example), but we received at the end of the meal a glass of Vermouth which went well with the desserts and which was a nice touch, even if it's unclear if this was related to the wait. The wait between courses was a little long at times, but the service was fast, efficient and the staff engaged in conversation. We were seated at the bar, so we were able to enjoy the “show”. The menu offers simple but friendly cuisine, although it lacks a little originality but I think that is intended for its debut. There were 2 of us and we shared the badger flames, deviled eggs and croqu’ailes as starters, then the sourdough maitake and half a chicken. We finished with carrot cake and chocolate tart. The starters were good but nothing more, a little expensive (eg: $14 for 2 eggs) but the croqu'ailes were very tasty. Big special mention for the maitake whose “meat” appearance was very successful with this crust reminiscent of chicken skin, and the pepper sauce which usually accompanies meats. The chicken and fries were very good too, small bonus for the gluten-free sauce but in too small a quantity. The desserts were excellent, the carrot cake to die for, but the tart had too much cream and not enough chocolate for our liking. We haven't seen the wine list, but the cocktail/beer menu is very reasonable. The staff did not push consumption and remained attentive. In short, a great address in the making! The portions are generous, but the menu could benefit from originality. The service is good but the organization could improve. We live nearby so we will definitely go back to try other dishes.
