Ristorante Renato

My favorite restaurant in Fredericksburg. Visited on the Saturday before Christmas with a party of four. Although the dining room was full, it was quiet, our service was excellent and the food and drinks perfect. I've seen complaints about the oysters but both the raw and Rockefeller were delicious with no sand. The Rockfish special and the Salmon Renato were perfectly cooked and seasoned and the Spaghetti with Clams and Chicken with Prosciutto were also excellent. The canolli was fresh and deliciously crisp and creamy. Our waiter, Juan, is a true professional and even brought some gluten free bread for one of our guests. If I had one criticism, it would be the bread. Just doesn't match the quality of the food. Better bread from Wegmans or Costco. But Al in all, a five star evening.

Ristorante Renato was one of the few restaurants that took reservations on a Saturday. With our family of 13, I was thrilled because I'm not willing to risk it when we're driving over an hour. We met here with our kids and grandkids to celebrate Christmas. Ristorante Renato had a separate, semi-private room prepared for us. Excellent food, excellent service, and able to accommodate a few special dietary needs (to include gluten free). Additionally, being in a separate room, we were able to open gifts and not disturb other guests (except for the one other party that arrived halfway through our dinner, but they were very friendly too). We may make this a standing Christmas tradition for our family. Cannot recommend them enough! And we came back for a second year and everything was excellent again! They're so lovely and accommodating!
