After a visit to another seafood establishment with an hour plus wait, we cruised down the road.
We were able to be seated immediately on a Friday night.
This was my second public attempt to eat gluten free.
Started off with Mexican shrimp cocktail. There was an option of crab and shrimp that we meant to order, but waitress never asked and never checked back in to see which option we preferred. Tortilla chips were crisp and salty.
I had the salmon, shrimp and Alaskan pollock enchiladas with cilantro lime rice. Really only tasted shrimp.
You know me—I can’t handle heat and hate sour cream—so immediately scraped that and jalapeños off.
The rice was delicious.
My foodie friend had the Bourbon Street trio—which consisted of shrimp and grits, crawfish etouffee and blackened tilapia with red beans and rice.
He liked red beans and rice and loved shrimp and grits—but the sauce was salted too much.
The etouffee was weird—not rich/flavorful enough. I lived in NOLA, and I, too found it lacking.
Online menu says dish is catfish, but tasted like tilapia.
Good place to try.
