Sagres Restaurant

My meal was superb. The meals my spouse and friends had also looked good and they enjoyed it. I had a passion fruit margarita that was excellent. I dropped a star because of our overall welcome. First, we checked the website, saw no mention of needing reservations or being able to request a reservation online, so we just showed up very early on a Sat evening. 4:30! We were told we couldn’t be seated because reservations were full. But the place was empty at that time. Fine. We took seats at the empty bar, not ideal for a party of 4 and service was ok. It’s also tricky to park, given they don’t have much more than a few parking spots in a lot. So prepare to look for street parking and walking a bit. Lastly, the desserts were a bit disappointing. Super, overly sweet, killed the flavor. This was basically the general feeling and we all got different things. If you’re gluten free, the menu is not marked but you can make it work pretty easily with this kind of cuisine. Overall, we paid quite a lot for decent service, excellent authentic Portuguese food, and a nice night out. It’s almost a 5 but not quite for my first time. Maybe next time. I’d go again with different expectations.
