Saravanaa Bhavan

Having been to Saravanaa bhavan in Delhi, London and paris, I had high hopes of Amsterdam as well, but oh well. It was a mild experience much at lower level than all my previous experiences. I was very surprised that this branch is only one who couldn't cater to gluten free dosa (GF). I mean can't complain it had many other options that were GF but I go this restaurant for my dosa not to have a North Indian meal. The restaurant didn't look or feel very appealing though the staff were very warm, served us with a smile on their face. I might retrun for service but over all, food was a miss for me.

The service was really poor. We waited long to be seated because there was nobody at the door, then we waited long time again for someone to take our order. We tried asking for attention and extra water (because the food was spicy, especially for my friend) but everyone just kept ignoring us for ages. The atmosphere was also not great, loud room, not cozy at all, sticky tables and someone was even vacuuming during our dinner time. It's definitely a tourist trap. The food itself was okay. Nothing really special, having eaten in many Indian restaurants I know there are far better options in town. For this price I definitely had higher expectations. One nice thing about this restaurant is that everything is vegetarian and vegan / gluten free dishes are marked clearly which is really nice of them to do. I am sorry for leaving a poor review, I don't do that often but I want to leave my feedback for the staff to improve and for customers to know what to expect.

This restaurant truly created a flavor explosion that still makes my taste buds dance with joy! As a vegetarian, I'm always looking for places where I can enjoy delicious food without having to worry about meat or fish, and this restaurant exceeded my expectations. What really sets this establishment apart is their careful attention to food allergies and dietary preferences. As someone who eats gluten-free and dairy-free, I was pleasantly surprised by the wide choice of dishes that met my dietary requirements without sacrificing taste or quality. It's so refreshing to dine somewhere where I can feel completely comfortable and not have to worry about cross-contamination. The staff also deserves kudos. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and friendliness. They were attentive and helpful in answering all my questions about the menu and ingredients. The chefs also deserve praise for their creativity and craftsmanship. The dishes were perfectly prepared and presented with an eye for detail. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also inviting and lively. It was great to see people from all backgrounds and ages coming together to enjoy delicious food and each other's company. I immediately felt at home and enjoyed the conversation with other guests. All in all, I can say with certainty that this is the best vegetarian food I have ever eaten. This restaurant definitely deserves a spot at the top of my list of favorite places to eat. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable culinary experience!
