Louisville is a city of great diversity of people and food choices. At the end of our stay in Louisville, I craved to try another Italian restaurant, mainly because it was very close to our hotel in the Germantown area. Sarino's is an authentic dine in, full bar Italian restaurant. We chose to sit outside on the patio among the trees. Overhead fans slowly spun above us moving the robust tomato/garlic smells that came from inside the restaurant to our table. Of particular interest to those who are on a gluten free diet ... you're in luck. Sarino's make all their pasta in house and offer gluten free dishes of all pasta except lasagna. Besides pasta , Sarino's offers a wide variety of pizzas made in their wood burning ovens. Having traveled to Italy, I can vouch that the sauces and flavors are real Italian. Our great server, Kenni recommended what she thought was the house favorite ... vodka sauce pasta. Buon appetito!! She knew a good thing.I had it, paired with a great Caesar salad and a shared bottle of Baron Ricasoli Reserva Chianti. What a night to remember. Thank you, Sarino's, for the great service and food. There is ample parking and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays.

The food was okay. However, we felt slighted on our meal by ordering gluten free. There were maybe 20 noodles on the pasta. They charged $3 extra for GF and $5 to split it. Very small portion even if you were not splitting. We saw other pasta that were not gluten free that were giant portions. Not sure why they wouldn’t give a large portion of GF pasta when they’re charging $30 for a bowl of pasta. Also the food needed more salt and the focaccia tasted like it was a few days old. (I can have gluten but my fiance cannot). I may come back but probably won’t. I can make any of these things cheaper and better at home.
