Scoops Handmade Ice Cream

Given the volume of customers, this local ice cream shop is the place to go. More than thirty varieties of homemade ice cream, you can find your favorite type and have it served in a bowl or cone. Homemade waffle cones are available, as well as gluten-free options. I personally didn't try one, but they have a homemade bubble waffle cone. Prices are comparable to similar shops I have visited in different parts of the country.

This place used to be called "BJ's Old Fashioned Ice Cream Shop" when I asked the manager why they were changing the name she said "the owner owns Scoops & had been buying ice cream from a local dairy company for BJ's but had a lot of requests for the handmade items that Scoops sells". Coos Bay/North Bend now has a handmade ice cream shop! Handmade ice cream is the best, although it is pricier than manufactured I think it is worth the extra cost. Scoops is selling gelato and gluten free items too. My wife and I had them mix us up some Huckleberry Cheesecake ice cream. After letting it freeze overnight we tried it, we were not overwhelmed. We both thought it was Vanilla with a hint of Huckleberry. We cannot recommend this place just yet. I encourage you to try Scoops for yourself. We need to help our small businesses as much as possible.
