Sea Level Oyster Bar NBPT

Good gluten free bun, but limited menu.

We’ve been coming here for years however recently my wife was diagnosed with celiac which has been challenging dining out. Sea level is one of the few restaurants were they offer gluten free meals AND are knowledgeable of celiac. Our meals were brought to us by another waiter staff and they were had flags denoting celiac. Omg whew this is fabulous! The problem is people eat gluten free however they don’t have an auto immune which unconsciously negates staff awareness of celiac! Establishments should be fully knowledgeable of celiac and be aware of cross contamination. This is very frustrating ! Sea Level owners embrace the knowledge and take responsibility to train employees. Thank God!

Food is fantastic, the service was not. It was a busy day, I’ll give them that, but our server was visibly annoyed at every request. I have a severe gluten allergy and I was told they take these requests extremely serious. They gave my gf a cider which I am able to have, but then when she wanted another one, they gave her a shipyard ale. I drank some thinking it was the cider, but unfortunately it was not. I told her about the mistake and she gave us a bit of an attitude about it as if we were lying about it. The rest of my party confirmed it was an ale. She didn’t even take it off the check until we asked… briefly checked in on how I was feeling but then walked away before I could finish explaining. Not very happy with my experience.
