Shipwrights Arms Hotel

Had the most amazing dinner here tonight! Had the bread for entree, eye fillet steaks for mains & banoffee pie for dessert. Every meal was phenomenal; bread was fresh and warm (and was a very generous serving might we add). The steaks were cooked perfectly, probably the best steak I’ve ever had. And the pie was so yummy, gluten free as well (unfortunately I’m one of those people). The service was also great, as it was our honeymoon the staff gave us a glass of bubbles each on the house which just topped off such a perfect night. If you are visiting Hobart definitely go here for dinner!

Great pub. Loved it. I have food allergies. Gluten free and these guys did a great job. GF beer was a nice touch to quench thirst. Oysters were 10/10 and well priced. Had the tuna served on mash which was tasty , well seasoned but bit over done. My wife’s steak looked sensational until the paella came out next table. Dam missed that gig. That smelt and looked awesome and the old couple nigh on ate the table. Gluten free too. My only complaint was not to be ordered to eat the paella. Haha. Finished with deserts. Gluten free brûlée was 10/10 and my wife couldn’t eat all of the sticky date pudding and needed a doggy bag. She said best ever. Not a bad start to a foodie tour of Tasmania
