We took our friends from out of state to the Greenville location and it was our first time trying the restaurant. Recently, one of our friends in the group was diagnosed with a severe gluten allergy so we had a restaurant in mind after doing our homework at who has gluten free menus but it was packed so we tried Sticky Fingers because it had good reviews. Right when we walked in the hostess was very friendly and greeted us immediately. Before being sat I asked if they had a gluten-free menu available and the hostess said they did! One of the servers (shorter woman in her 40sish) overheard and said “we don’t have a gluten-free menu all we serve is meat and vegetables, nothing would have gluten in it” and continued to talk under her breath and laugh. She then proceeded to tell the hostess to seat us in a different section right in front of us. We were all shocked. Just about all bread, barbecue sauce, and other dressing have gluten in it so she clearly didn’t know what she was saying. At the time there were maybe three or four different tables sat in the entire place so it wasn’t like she was busy. All five of the adults in our group had served in a restaurant at one point so we completely understand being overwhelmed when it’s busy, but it wasn’t. Anyways the hostess sat us and in fact did give her a gluten-free menu because THEY DO HAVE ONE but there are only two items on it because all of the other ones were crossed out with sharpie. Our server (younger girl with tattoos) was pretty attentive to our table and made sure we had everything we needed. The food tasted fine and the price wasn’t too bad but that first server gave us all a bad taste in our mouth for sticky fingers. It was pretty embarrassing to take our friends to a downtown that we had bragged about and to experience this kind of service at the first restaurant we ate at. I understand the “gluten-free” fad can bring on some eye roll‘s but it isn't a fad for everyone, sometimes it’s actually medically necessary. If you are going to be in the service industry try to have some grace for those customers who aren’t rude.
