A bit pricey. A friend with celiac got two different responses about gluten in their bolognese sauce. Why is there gluten in there? Good portions. Good flavors. Tiramisu could be improved. Can be a bit noisy.

I was excited to try Sugo with friends for what would have been my late husband Lou’s 70th birthday. Lou was my Sicilian chef, so I knew what to look for. He also had to be gluten free - a tough ride for a Sicilian! I ordered the eggplant Parmesan with GF pasta and definitely recommend it. My friends had the chicken parm w the fresh homemade pasta. The eggplant is better. My friends did say the fresh regular pasta was amazing. Sauces were authentic w San Marzano tomatoes and a little kick. The wait staff were gracious- just harried because it’s a new restaurant. Christian was THE BEST. He was so kind and took time to chat with everyone. It’s just so stressful to open an authentic Italian restaurant when many people are more interested in Americanized Italian cuisine. For example, one of my friends asked why we had to pay for an order of bread and olive oil (rather than aka Olive Garden). The bread and garlic and olive oil were awesome at Sugo, BTW. A few friendly suggestions as Sugo gets their feet: 1) Offer fresh ground Parmesan/Romano and fresh ground pepper to everyone. 2) Consider the bread thing, but pepper and cheese come first. 3) Also fix the coffee machine. My cocktail was ok but there is a better one I did not order (sunrise?). Do NOT leave without dessert: pistachio caramel cake with peach garnish. Enough for two and the best part of the meal. I loved it! Just growing pains for Sugo right now. Thanks for making my late husband’s 70th birthday celebration special. I look forward to coming back!
