Went here on the recommendation from a talented chef friend and his gluten free partner. The restaurant is beautiful, love the wood accents. The food is delicious, some of the best sushi I’ve had in Seattle. I liked trying some more traditional plates like the Braised Snake River Farms wagyu beef skirt konabe with maitake mushrooms and yuchoi, the Rougheye Rockfish (Neah Bay, WA) kama nitsuke with hari ginger and fresh gobo, and the Shishito Peppers blistered and sprinkled with sea salt. After that I tried a flight of nigiri and really enjoyed the Otoro and Black Cod Belly Grilled. Overall a great night with delicious food and attentive service all in a cozy atmosphere. *the restaurant does add a 20% living wage surcharge to the order but additional gratuity is not expected.

Our new favorite upscale sushi place! We are gluten free and dairy free and could not have had a better experience. You MUST get the Chawanmushi - so good!! The sushi is as fresh as I've had in Seattle, and I think that's saying a lot given the areas reputation for great seafood. Very balanced flavors that are at once subtle and explosive. Service is incredible. We wanted a coursed meal and, even though we didn't order one, our dishes were served as if we did. Very accommodating to our dietary needs. The aesthetics are pretty good. Food and service of this quality deserve a better outdoor view than Eastlake Bar and Grill, but the indoor space fits the mood. Romantic, simple, and elegant.
