I entered the restaurant feeling hungry, without any information or recommendations. However, the atmosphere was warm, cozy, clean and well-kept restaurant. Also, my husband ordered gluten free curry and my daughter ordered pasta from the Kid's menu. Both were great. Especially, compared to the kids' menu pasta at similar-level restaurants, it appeared to be the most carefully crafted dish with children in mind. Also the pasta was served with some vegetable. I hope the quality and taste of the kids' menu pasta remain unchanged. In terms of my food, I ordered fish and chips. It was fine but it was too crispy and I felt a little bit greasy. In addition, there is a small area for kids. Even though It wasn't a place like a soft play area, but our child still enjoyed the there, perhaps because she is still young. Other than that, it was great experience. Would return again.

We had 8 people in our party. One of which was gluten free the rest of the party had the carvery. We had to wait a while for our meal order to be be taken. We all found the carvery to be a little under par from what we are used to receiving from the sweet chestnut. The beef was very tough and chewy, the Yorkshire pudding was stodgy and looked undercooked and the roast potatoes tasted as though they were reheated from the previous day. The waitress was not very helpful asking us to pass the plates down to her when we finished our meal " to save her walking". Overall it wasn't our best experience.

This place was once the best place to go. I was there last Friday with my daughter which was for a late birthday / night out. I had the macaroni cheese with pulled pork, chips. My daughter had a gluten free burger, which she liked but was to much for her, chips wasn't cooked right she said so left them by the time it came my daughter was hungry. After we had been to the theatre in Dumfermline I was ill by 1am in the morning. I was ill for 12 hours with Food poisoning from my meal. I called them and told them I ha e have been vedy I'll from the meal and was told this would be getting looked into, and I would get a call back from the head office, and the would contact fife council and what my gut thought was they won't do anything and I was right. No call from anyone i will never go back to this place and I will also be advising friends and family to stay away from there.
