I rarely feel compelled to write a review, but for the experience I just had, I will make an exception. I ordered cupcakes online for my Wife's birthday (who is celiac/gluten free). I have personally had gluten free cupcakes from this bakery & their website notes "Our vegan and gluten-free options also ensure everybody gets a treat"... Great... I placed my order online, then called a mere hour and a half after placing to confirm the gluten free wasn't an upcharge and that I paid an acceptable amount. Upon calling they said that they no longer offer gluten free(which isn't a big issue); however, instead of simply cancelling my order and refunding my money, they insisted that since it is not their fault, they would ONLY offer me a store credit... instead of pressing "cancel", they insisted that I was at fault and they will NOT be giving me any money back. After speaking with 3 people, this was the final verdict... They insisted that this line on their website "Our vegan and gluten-free options also ensure everybody gets a treat" does not mean gluten free cupcakes.... Could have fooled me, and last time I checked a cupcake is a "treat"!
So, finally I would like to tell sweet revenge to keep my $25 gift card because I don't want it. Instead, I will tell everyone I know this story as they look for treats, and let them make their own decision on who they give their money to. I have had better luck with major corporation's customer service than this place, which is absolutely absurd.
We're in a pandemic, and you're withholding my money. Money that could be better spent essential goods, but I decided to treat my pregnant celiac wife on her birthday to some cupcakes. Now, I had to spend another $25 elsewhere to get her a birthday treat.
I don't just question the company, I question the character of the employees. I almost can't believe this is even happening, it is almost comical how bad their customer service is.
