My friend and I had lunch at the tap and barrel brentwood location today at around 3pm. She ordered the gluten free cauliflower honey valentina lettuce wrap. As she has a gluten allergy and is a VEGETARIAN OF 10+ years. When she bit into the wrap , chewed and SWALLOWED the food, her stomach started to hurt and she instantly realized that they had served her chicken instead of cauliflower.
She was absolutely mortified and felt very violated. To be quite honest with you she feels traumatized as she has had no animal product in over 10 years and now her body is reacting terribly as it is not used to having that kind of food. She had trusted the waitress to get her order right the first time. It is the waitresses job to take the order and to CONFIRM the order right after to make sure they have the item written correctly, is it not?
The manager did come over and apologize on the waitresses behalf and comped the meal, BUT still charged her $7 for a coffee?? My friend is very passive and does not like to make a scene so I didn't not say anything but she should've not have been charged for ANYTHING after this happened. The absolute audacity about this whole situation is absurd. I have emailed the Brentwood location asking for the corporate email as I want to file a FORMAL COMPLAINT about this situation.
