Such an awesome experience for people with celiac disease! They do take precautions to avoid cross contamination! All side have their own scoopers and the corn bread is wrapped in plastic wrap so even when the employees touch it, there is no cross contamination. For the meat, they brought out a new brisket, changed gloves, used a different cutting board , and used a different knife!!! Not only safe but delicious!!

Terry Black’s was so accommodating for changing their gloves and adding paper and a cutting board for our gluten free meats, they took the time and care changing gloves 4x after wiping down the scale and and the butcher block. The food is excellent! Definitely worth the drive down to Dallas.

We swung by Terry Black's BBQ for dinner, and the place had a genuinely good, energetic vibe. It's a classic Texas BBQ setup: self-serve, where you grab a tray and snake through a line. First, you hit the sides station. I was pleasantly surprised to see they clearly label their gluten-free (GF) and vegan options—a thoughtful touch. We loaded up with green beans, Mac and cheese, potato salad, and cornbread. The green beans were a definite highlight—absolutely amazing! However, the cornbread was disappointingly dry. Moving on to the meat counter, we decided to get a sample of everything. Out of the selection, the sausage and the pork ribs were the standouts and my personal favorites. Unfortunately, the brisket, the cornerstone of Texas BBQ, was dry. Overall, while the atmosphere is great and the self-serve system is efficient, I have to say I expected a bit more from a place with this reputation. It was just average; I wasn't blown away. Good, but not great enough to be memorable.
