The Cut & Craft York

We came here for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first visit and it was amazing! The food was so yummy, lovely presentation and definitely worth the money. The best dauphinoise potatoes we have ever had! I’m gluten free, and they were so accommodating and helpful! And I felt safe to eat which is always nice :)

This is a very difficult review. I would have given 5 stars as the food was lovely and we were very well looked after by our waitress (5 stars for her). However, one of our party is Coeliac and was ordering from the GF menu. When the starter arrived she knew that it wasn't GF, but the waiter insisted it was. We queried it with our designated waitress and she knew it was incorrect. Lots of apologies and the starter was changed, of course, but we were unsure whether the staff were fully aware of how serious the consequences of this error could have been. We hope all staff would know that if someone queries an order like this, it is best practice to double check with the chef.
