Really enjoyed our meal here. Staff are brilliant, and their gluten-free options are delicious. I had the sea bass, which was great. Cocktails are a little sweet for my liking.
I removed a star as the ladies' toilets were out of service, but otherwise, it was faultless.

You have been amazing!
Ate here yesterday afternoon. I am dairy and gluten free, which can cause a problem. Not here.. the food and service were excellent. The dairy and gluten free cheesecake was out of this world. Will definitely visit again when in York.
Had afternoon tea, two versions one for me and a gluten free version for my other half, the food was very good apart from the gluten free scone, but they replaced it with an alternative option
Such a delicious hearty meal, thank you, and a dedicated gluten free menu which I always love. Benjamin our waiter was great - attentive, warm and funny. Great spot!
Had a really lovely time at Zizzi’s in York. Our waitress Liv helped us when we were unsure on what to order as one of our friends has a gluten intolerance. She had patience and ran through all the options with him and made our experience amazing. The food we received was excellent and we are definitely returning when we visit York again ☺️
Food was fantastic. Deep and original flavours to each dish. The dozas were light a fluffy the fossgate beef a 'must try' starter. My number one Indian restaurant from now on. Also had a very nice gluten free beer called maharaja which was light and refreshing the perfect accompanyment. The service was helpful and prompt.
We went at the beginning of April, it was 2 adults and a toddler. We arrived for lunch time without booking and we just had to wait a few minutes. Needed gluten free options and they were happy to accomodate, advising us whether something might have través of gluten. I had the Persian eggs and my partner the chicken shawarma, toddler needed gluten free option. Everything was delicious and the place quite lovely. I would definitely recomend.
Amazing food, warm and friendly atmosphere, even on a Monday night it was full of people! Pucca who was serving us was very attentive 😊 please come here if you get the chance! Brilliant place for gluten free options too!
Staff were great, accommodated a party of 6, always busy and buzzing. They accommodate gluten free which is great (bake their own bread) - no hash browns unfortunately which is a little strange for a classic brunch spot. Don't expect anything flash, just good honest grub.
The guy put depeche mode - just can’t get enough on the duke box. My son was wearing his Celtic top! Fantastic service 💚🍀🤍 HH!
I have coeliac disease, I feel great no reaction to this food.
Second time having an amazing afternoon tea delivered from Love to eat. The gluten free option is just as delicious and so much effort to give a variety of bread and cakes which is rare!
Lovely people to deal with , highly recommend
Beautiful terrace overlooking the river which was a great spot for an excellent roast on a Sunday. First gluten free yorkshire pudding our coeliac has ever had as well!

This place was well decorated and had such a lively atmosphere.
Our servers were really nice and our food arrived pretty quick.
They have plenty of gluten free options available here and I really enjoyed my GF pizza.
I would definitely recommend for an enjoyable and affordable meal.
We came here for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first visit and it was amazing! The food was so yummy, lovely presentation and definitely worth the money. The best dauphinoise potatoes we have ever had!
I’m gluten free, and they were so accommodating and helpful! And I felt safe to eat which is always nice :)
Service was quick and polite but they advertise as caters for gluten free but what this really meant was a menu the same as the normal one but with almost everything crossed of as not gluten free, leaving a couple of cakes and a fruit salad.
An overall disappointing afternoon tea experience for a gluten-free person.
-Supermarket bought cakes (clearly from Sainsbury's) on gluten free afternoon tea plate.
- 'cheese parcel alternative' for me was just a piece of white toast and cheese, not an equal alternative.
-£5 extra for the pleasure of a GF option which as noted, felt like poor effort and poor quality
Unfortunately Plush under delivered and over charged for what I got here.
Positives: Coffee and scone were good and clearly homemade
Summary: please make better gluten free options and don't buy supermarket cakes or biscuits for the afternoon tea, it is unfair to charge extra for this lack of service.
This place did not disappoint! Im a big fan of BBQ food, so it's great to find a place that does it right! They even cater for coeliacs, which is brilliant! The BBQ pulled pork tasted amazing and the shake on the chips is delicious. I will be going back to try the trays, im looking forward to the ribs and wings. I highly recommend going here to sample some amazing BBQ food!
Suited all our party, nut allergies, gluten intolerances, meat eaters and veggie preference. Sweets looked nice too but I didn't have room - too stuffed
Great food & always cater to gluten free needs. The bits and bobs board was insane also the pork belly sandwich with gluten free bread. Been coming for over 10 years.
Very good gluten free options on all menus. We were staying at the hotel so had a breakfast as well as dinner. The food was excellent and they were able to cater very well to my gluten free diet.
The pizzas were ENORMOUS and delicious, well worth the trip we've been meaning to do for ages! Our table was in the basement which wasn't as nice as main restaurant but we were just glad to be there. Dog friendly & also catered (unofficially) for my gluten-intolerant friend with a little side bowl of roast veggies
Loved the food so much. The place too is incredibly stunning. The only thing that annoyed me a bit is that we had to wait ages until someone takes away our plates and then again around 15 minutes until someone came again to take our dessert order. Despite only being six people at the restaurant altogether. However, that happens and the food was absolutely amazing. There was probably just a change of shifts and we were unlucky. I am absolutely and 100% sure that this place deserves a visit from you.
My order (pictures): lobster ravioli and gluten free brownie
Gluten free (non coeliac) breakfast We get tired of looking for gluten free focused places and thought we would try these guys after struggling to find a park at a local cafe that likely offered a better quality coffee. We decided to just 'grab something' from this cafe but we're delighted to see a full English breakfast and smaller options for eat in. No specific gluten free menu but offered vegan and vegetarian options. However the staff were happy to look up the allergens on their menu
Note to GF - no gluten free bread offered, all sausages contain gluten however the chef was happy to add another egg and some extra bits and pieces to make up for the sausage and bread. It was still a very full breakfast and filling.
These guys were very busy but the ladies in the restaurant were so happy to help and doing a great job- considering. Line up at the till even if you want just coffee as this seemed to create confusion for some patrons and listen out for your table number.
The coffee was pretty average, otherwise I would have given 5 stars but we also have a fussy, Australian palate for coffee and honestly didn't expect a lot from a supermarket cafe. :-) good find.
The best sandwich shop I have been to in the world. Amazing, affordable prices and MASSIVE portion sizes. The actual produce is tasty and excellent quality. On top of that, the staff are very hospitable people and cater for gluten free. I'm addicted.
We both had a lovely meal to celebrate our anniversary. A "proper restaurant" that strikes exactly the right balance of doing excellent food, without feeling too formal.
They also have vegetarian and gluten-free options which is good on a small menu.
Excellent wine, starters, mains and desserts.
We had a picnic for six (including one gluten free) for a boat trip. The food was amazing and beautifully packed up with everything we needed. The gluten free member of our party has never been so well catered for. I cannot fault the food or the service and communications were excellent. I will be back to explore the Delicatessen when I’m next in York.
Lovely food and staff members. the portion is quite big. Gluten free options are available for some of the menu. Located in the antique house, the environment is quiet and special. Highly recommended!
Came for an early dinner on Sunday night. We were one of a few couples inside but the restaurant was beautifully decorated and the staff were attentive. Generous portions and the Greek salad and souvlaki were delicious. Menu stated vegetarian and gluten free options clearly
My only complaint is we had afternoon tea with 'Champagne' but I never saw this being poured so could have been anything and the glasses are just horrible cheapest things going which can be to the detriment of a good wine or Champagne. Afternoon tea was excellent including the gluten free one. Would book again but might have to take some decent glasses to match the rest of the afternoon
Really wonderful restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff, delicious food and buzzing atmosphere. Pasta dishes can be made gluten-free and the pasta they use is great. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
The cafe is AMAZING. I am gluten-free and my friend is vegetarian and we were spoilt for choice. The chai and matcha were both so good, and the hot honey halloumi hash brown stack was possibly the best brunch I've ever had. The cafe is aesthetically lovely and the dog picture walls are so adorable. The staff are lovely too, so friendly and approachable - this place is a solid 10/10.
