The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Red Deer

Have always had a good time here but as a new recently diagnosed celiac I was a little disappointed at the few options on the menu. Let alone a gluten free menu. When I asked the server if I could get a small salad instead of the table bread the server said "no", without even clearing it from a manager. Instead said I could purchase the "classic" and get it for $10 more. I understand that this is my issue I need to live with but do also feel that if a business is offering something to non-diet regular customers, then a simple accommodation can be made for people who have certain dietary restrictions.

As usual the Keg has superb food! There is a ton of gluten free options for the wife and daughter that are very enjoyable. Unfortunately the deserts only include creme brulle and ice cream for gluten free, but thankfully they are both so good my wife likes to come just for dessert. During their summer meals they fly in the crab and lobster every two weeks and you could taste the freshness. The steaks are absolutely top tier as well, definitely no cheaping out. Prices are comparable to other restaurants of its caliber and the wait staff is very friendly and helpful. There was a couple snags in our order where two little things were missed, but it was immediately remedied and could easily be blamed on the fact that this was a table of 8 including two kids. Overall it is hard to top the quality of food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommended!
