The Boot Room

I don't know if we had a bad experience or what, but the food was not good. The place got great reviews, so my whole family and I went to check it out. Everyone's food came out cold. My sister ordered a gluten free bun, and they brought it out with a regular bun, luckily she noticed. They took it to the back and it was another 15min before they brought it back out. Then when they did, they brought it out with tots, not fries. Not only that, but I paid $20 for a burger and fries. I'm okay paying that at a gourmet burger place, but not a bar. The restaurant is attached to a brewery, but the brewery doesn't do flights and they won't let you sample the beer. Overall it definitely wasn't worth it. The food wasn't good, and the beer didn't save the day. Unfortunately, I won't be back. There are way better spots in Durham.

The food was good. It wasn't what I'd call great, though, especially at the price point. I had the avocado toast on gluten free bread, but the girl behind the counter never asked if we needed anything to drink, and the whole interaction was just weird. I won't not go again. If a friend wants to go, I'd definitely go again. The food WAS good. Atmosphere and price, though, keep me from being the person who suggests going there, though.
