While driving through Tecumseh on our way to Hidden Lakes Garden, we decided we were hungry so stopped in downtown and were delighted to spot the British Tea Garden (aka British Pantry Tea Garden Cafe). What a gem! It's a lovely British-themed gift shop combined with a cafe for tea and lunch. The decor with pictures of Queen Elizabeth and the royal family made me feel I'd been transported to London. The shop had many lovely gifts to choose from. There was an extensive tea menu and we chose Tea On The Beach, served in beautiful tea cups with a china pot. The service was wonderful and so was the food. My husband enjoyed the Shepherd's Pie and I had the cold luncheon plate (pictured), which was a fresh and savory light lunch. For dessert he had the carrot cake (excellent) and I had the lemon parfait (pictured) which was tart, creamy and delicious a serving large enough to share. I've been craving that parfait ever since! There are gluten-free choices on the menu, which I loved. We highly recommend and will definitely be dining there again.
