The Cheesecake Factory

The ship has sailed on this cookie cutter chain. Going to this restaurant feels like going to a birthday party you're excited about, but there's a clown, it's really loud, the cake sucks with disappointing icing, and the mother running the party is inattentive and drinking in the garage. Plan to wait a long time for a very disappointing meal that tastes a bit like frozen dinner fare. Gone are the days of new and exciting recipes and here to stay are nickel and diming practices trying to cut back on the all little things. The little things are what makes a restaurant great though. It's unfortunate because a long time ago I remember having a couple of meals here that were pretty good. Of course my memory might be jaded and I probably over romanticized the food. Still, for this many people trying clamor into the door of a tired chain restaurant, somebody should speak up and tell people that the jig Is up and it's time to find a new restaurant. Luckily they still offer a couple of gluten-free cheesecakes which is their one Ray of Hope. It's hard to cater to today's digestive issues and this restaurant does very little to help customers who can't eat wheat. From now on when we pass by this place we will look at each other in the eyes and remember the days of old when the Cheesecake Factory was a place to go and enjoy food.

I came here after finals and sat at the bar since I was by myself. The service was terrific. I didn't typically go to chain restaurants, but it was late and I know Cheesecake Factory has gluten free options and checked ahead that their kitchen would still be open when I arrived at 9pm. The bartender had a recommendation for me that was delicious (the chicken pasta with peas and pancetta and mushrooms- I forget the name) and more than enough for 2-3 meals. Food is consistent, staff is knowledgeable about allergies, service was fast and friendly.

The food was inedible, we had a party of 12, 2 of them got drunk and ate the food. The rest of us took a couple bites and got to go boxes. My wife and I threw ours out before getting home. The staff was great, but we waited an hour and a half for the biggest disappointment of our lives. Wife wanted to have her birthday dinner here because of the gluten free options. The rest of us paid the price. Go here for the service, not the food. It tastes so flavorless and processed. I wouldn't be surprised if the chefs are microwaves. I tried 10 different dishes because we had to have a contest to see who had the worst food just to cheer ourselves up. We got food on the way home. Honestly, McDonald's tastes less processed than this place. I don't get the hype. It's horrid. I wish we would have just went to a taco bell or something because even fast food is better than this place and I hate fast food. Don't fall for the hype, Eat somewhere with actual food that is edible. Heck, half the stuff was either undercooked or overcooked on top of it all. I regret saying yes to this place, she regrets going. I think people pretend it tastes good because after reading the Bible of a menu and waiting forever, they'd go into a deep depression realizing what they did to themselves. End rant.
