Gathered at the charming Chelsea in New Bern, NC, we indulged in a delightful lunch with cousins, who made the scenic drive from Hampstead. Surrounded by laughter and catching up, we savored the gluten-free options, including the renowned shrimp and grits, which undoubtedly stole the show. Our waiter was so helpful in pointing out gf options like Brown Butter Barbecue Chicken (grilled). It was a cherished moment of connection over delicious food in a beautiful setting, creating memories to cherish for years to come.

I'm gluten free (and corn free) and at times it stresses me out to go to restaurants and have the waitress go back for ever question I have (personally I think that shows a lack of knowledge of the menu). So after the waitress went back for a third time (we had the bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer and i thought they were way over done) I settled on the GF Blackened Mahi Mahi. Clearly not enjoying my food, I was thinking about leaving a 2 star review when either the general manager or owner asked how things were seeming to know I wasn't impressed. She told me there were many things they could make gluten free (which based on our waitress I was a little surprised) she convinced me to try the chicken bruschetta and that was delicious. I was very happy with my meal and very grateful she rescued me from my previously sad dinner.

Great food, wonderful service and the atmosphere in this historical building was incredible. We sat upstairs next to a window that overlooked the street below. They have a couple of gluten free options. These are not indicated on their menu, you must alert your service to your dietary restrictions, in which they were very accommodating. Our ribeyes were a large portion and cooked so perfectly that we didn't feel we need a knife. We would drive back any chance we get just to eat at this restaurant!
