My wife & I were excited to try this place after reading reviews that said they have Vegan & Gluten Free menus. Our experience was decent, but with some disappointment.
1st, I tried calling ahead to place our order (bc we're 35ish mins away) & no one picked up the phone, seemed like I was hung up on twice. So, we had to drive all the way there to order.
Then, when we arrived, there was no one at the small front counter to greet us or take our order. We had to stand there akwardly looking at the menus at the head of the dining room while we waited for help. This was on a weekday morning they were bustling but not packed.
The Vegan & Gluten Free menus, while appreciated, are separate btw, so if you are BOTH Vegan & GF, you still have to ask questions about the menu items. It would be better if the Vegan menu was marked with GF identifiers to make everything more straight forward. Aside from that, the menus prices had been changed, reflecting prices that were much higher than reflected online.
*I've added photos of the Vegan menu with updated prices.
Finally, a staff member came to greet us. We asked about take out. We had to wait 5 more minutes until another staff member came to take our order with a handheld. We ordered the Vegan Breakfast & Vegan Chilaquiles bc it was the most affordable options, which had a wait time of 20 minutes. The food was good, but pretty basic for the high price. Seems like they are banking on convenience, but this wasn't even a convenient visit for us, considering we didnt dine in & the time we wasted just to place an order. The cafe is cute, but pretty small & the dining room was a lil' tight.
Would love to try more of their menu, but not sure we'll be back considering the ordering inconvenience & lack of affordability.
