The Old Goat

This is our second time coming here while visiting family and it has become our stable. Incredible atmosphere, live music, gluten free options galore. We simply love it and have recommended it to all friends and relatives. Only concerns are limited parking and them being busy so you may have to wait for a table.

Exciting to have a grilled Reuben sandwich that was gluten-free!

We arrived at 4:55 pm, and had previously tried to join the waitlist. Upon walking in, the hostess informed us that 2 other parties had arrived in the one minute of us not checking the waitlist, and we would have to wait for 40 min. Around 6 pm we got sat. It was incredibly busy, but still frustrating since we had tried to add to the waitlist prior. We had an interesting waiter- he thought his jokes were funny and talked nonstop. Wasn’t impressed. The main thing I’m concerned about is he didn’t know that potatoes weren’t gluten!! Which tells me he doesn’t know what gluten is- that could be very dangerous for future customers!! I had to tell him that potatoes weren’t gluten and that I could have them- as a gf person! I loved that the food was labelled as vegan/df/gf but in trying the gf grilled cheese- it was way too done and crunchy- I had to dip it in my lobster bisque to get it softer to eat! Goathaus salad was decent- just soaked in a lot of dressing. Lobster bisque was great! Atmosphere is cool- love the live music- not too loud- perfect volume! Please educate your servers upon allergens/dietary needs and also professional service!
