At this point, I have been to almost every Original Pancake House in Illinois, and this experience was just...BLAH. I would recommend that you walk, but don't run to it. The omellete wasn't anything special, and since I am gluten-free, I ordered the GF pancakes, which were NOT the greatest I have ever had. They were unusually small and misshapen, and the only flavor they had was the added cinnamon to cover up the taste of cardboard. The most commendable part of the breakfast was the hot chocolate and the roasted potatoes, which, in my opinion, were seasoned to perfection and, most importantly, not greasy.
So, all in all, it was an okay experience, but by no means was it mind-blowing. My recommendation is to walk, don't run; I would hate to see you get hurt for a mediocre breakfast.
Hmmm, maybe next time I am in the area, I will walk the extra block to try Mr. Stacks. Just a thought...
Enjoy!
