Went recently for dinner and was very underwhelmed. Overall we had a decent time but I can guarantee you’d have a better time elsewhere. 1/5 Service: this is the worst customer service I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. Going in we knew this place has a strict no grace period rule, so we all arrived on time but we couldn’t help but feel bad for the people that arrived before us. It was a large party (maybe 6 people) and they had one person arrive 5 minutes past their reservation. The host told them they will have to wait longer as a result though. This was on a night that wasn’t too crowded, there were no other large parties waiting to be seated. Unless they gave away the table to a party of 2 or 4, in a span of 5 minutes, there is no reason why they couldn’t be seated at 7:05 instead of 7 pm. Just before we were about to be seated, my mom asked the host for a GF menu. The host then asked if she has a celiac disease and when my mom said,no it’s just a sensitivity, the host responded “good cause I wouldn’t want to deal with you then”. It was flat out rude and put a damper on the whole experience. Our server made us feel rushed. I understand it’s a business and restaurants make money by turning over tables quickly but the customer should not be treated. We would’ve tipped lower if it weren’t for the 18% gratuity fee already on the bill. Yes I understand any successful restaurant is more concerned about making money than the customer experience, but as I customer I still shouldn’t feel like I’m treated poorly. Food: the only reason why I give more than one star is because my parents both enjoyed their food of the dry aged New York strip and the king salmon. For the New York strip, my dad ordered medium well, I didn’t see any pink so I’m convinced it was more on the well done side. I recommend ordering it just medium or medium raw but the piece I tried was still very good. My girlfriend had the burger and really liked it. I had the sea scallops which I enjoyed except for the shell I found in my lobster risotto that was about the size of a nickel. All the food was great but not perfect. (3/5)Atmosphere: the restaurant looks very nice. The reason I’m giving 3 stars though is because all the chairs were wobbly and our table was small for a party of 4. We were seated at a high top and I felt like I was going to fall out of my chair, I ended up switching my chair with another table which helped. The bar on the chair to rest your feet was rather high and made my legs uncomfortable. Please consider investing in better tables and chairs. I understand parts of my review may be nitpicking but for a restaurant that costs has much as this one, I hold it to a very high standard. I want this place to improve and hope if I ever come back the chef double checks there are no shells in my food, they have better chairs, and most importantly that the staff learn to treat their customers with respect and make them feel somewhat important.
