We were genuinely excited to dine at Chasing Rabbit in Vail, especially given the beautifully designed space and the friendly, attentive staff. We ordered a vegan orecchiette dish with gluten-free pasta due to severe food allergies, and we made sure to communicate clearly and respectfully that we required strict precautions to avoid cross-contamination.
To their credit, the team was courteous and understanding, and even the chef came out to speak with us directly, which we truly appreciated. Unfortunately, despite these efforts, we experienced a serious allergic reaction and food-related intoxication after the meal—likely due to gluten cross-contamination.
While the atmosphere and service were commendable, we must warn that this restaurant is not a safe option for individuals with gluten or food allergies. Cross-contamination remains a significant risk, and based on our experience, their kitchen protocols may not be sufficient to protect those with serious dietary restrictions.
We hope Chasing Rabbit will take further steps to enhance their allergy safety procedures. For now, we advise those with food allergies to proceed with caution when considering dining here.
