My recent experience at The Well was unfortunately quite disappointing. We had a reservation for 2:45 PM and were immediately informed upon arrival that the kitchen was closing at 3:00 PM. This crucial piece of information should have been disclosed at the time of booking, as it significantly impacted our dining experience. We felt rushed to order, which made for a less than enjoyable meal. While the food itself was good, it also felt quite pricey for what it was.
Adding to the frustration, I had attempted to call the restaurant beforehand to inquire about parking, but no one answered. Upon arriving, we discovered their parking validation policy differs between weekdays and weekends (AMLI building during the week, City Hall parking on weekends). This information was not available on their website, nor could I confirm it by phone.
Finally, we had brought a dessert to celebrate Mother's Day and were told they could not provide us with utensils due to being a gluten-free kitchen. This policy seemed peculiar and was not disclosed anywhere. It's hard to understand why thoroughly washed utensils would pose an issue for gluten sensitivities or allergies.
Overall, the lack of upfront communication regarding kitchen hours, parking, and their utensil policy, coupled with the high prices for the food, made for a frustrating and unwelcoming experience. I would not recommend The Well
