Trattoria Antica Maddalena

I went to this restaurant with my family on a recommendation, I have celiac disease and am therefore not allowed to eat gluten... Allergens are marked on the menu and when asked, the staff was very understanding and informed. There are plenty of gluten-free choices for food and dessert too! Was a very good experience!

Elegant trattoria in the center of Udine, with the possibility of lunch outside in summer. Seasonal menu with particular combinations and clearly specified allergens. Many of the dishes are naturally gluten-free (as a celiac I have had the opportunity to taste some excellent battered vegetables after a long time) while others can be adapted to gluten-free (all pasta dishes can be ordered gluten-free). Many of the desserts are already gluten-free on the menu, we chose a cheesecake with almond biscuit and a mint mousse with berries, really excellent. Very attentive and quick service, they even made me find gluten free crackers at the table. Reservations are strongly recommended, specifying the need for gluten-free cuisine.
