Trident Coffee Coronado

Very good coffee and matcha, losts of gluten free pastry options

What an iconic place to call our daily fuel. Trident coffee has a limited menu, health forward (think functional mushrooms, sugar free and gluten free products) and true to their brand through-and-through. Their cold brew flights are awesome. The food itself gets 4 stars only because some of the recipes are somewhat targeted to Keto-type diets and can be hit or miss in flavor and occasional aftertaste. Trident's and its founders are deeply rooted in military service and perspectives and the shop has a mental health undertone that's edgy and clever. Service is lovely and as regulars, it's always great to have a friendly face that knows their customers.

Gluten free, dairy free, protein-packed donuts. They are not just good, they are killer! I randomly walked into this place with a friend, not expecting to get anything but his usual coffee order, and saw their amazing looking baked goods. I never can get anything fun at coffee shops with all of my food allergies, but when we asked, the barista let us know that not only are most of their treats GF, but also dairy free!!! The lemon lavender donut blew my mind, it was so amazing. Might even be one of the best donuts I have ever had, even before my allergies hit. I cannot wait for another excuse to be in Coronado so I can get another one.
