We would go back as we are gluten and seed oil free and options are limited in town, but were a bit disappointed. No hostess at the stand when we arrived. We had a reservation and were sat at a tiny two top despite their being four booths available that were never sat during the entire duration that we dined and we were there until close. A big bug flew into my hair while at the table. Fortunately my husband noticed and got it out. Things happen, it was just strange as we were nowhere near the door. The staff seems very green. The kitchen doesn’t close until 10 and we arrived just after 8 and felt rather rushed through the whole experience. We tried the crispy chicken on a salad to begin and it came out black and so dry. Our server never came back to check how we liked our appetizers and we were so hungry so we just ate it. The watermelon salad was SO well done. Flavors and textures all complemented each other so nicely. That being said, the menu mentioned avocado mousse and I didn’t notice it in the dish. The lasagna and blackened grilled salmon were excellent as well. Everything was fresh and vibrant. Great flavors and vision with regard to the menu. Our first round of cocktails were great and then it seemed like the bartender was kind of over it. We had the smoke show old fashioned for our second round and were both unimpressed. So sweet and no garnish. As a craft bartender myself I would expect far more out of an almost $20 cocktail. The vibe very much felt like they were pretty slow for a Saturday night and just wanted to get out of there. I always enjoyed True Food in Phoenix and Orange County so I will give the place another chance. Just providing some honest feedback and room for improvement.

Long overdue review! THANK YOU, BRIAN for the absolutely wonderful customer service turning around my experience and very 1st visit to True Love. ❤️ I took my Son out for a special lunch date and chose this restaurant for the many gluten free and health food options. Unfortunately, our server was a little inexperienced. As a long time service industry professional, I was very let down by her steps of service and hospitality, especially when it was supposed to be a special treat for my Son that day. I eventually decided to just leave after not even getting our waters when we had been seated for 20 min. I politely let the gentleman at the host stand know about the situation, giving him professional feedback for the very green server. I wasn't upset with her, we all start somewhere, but I also refused to stay waiting around receiving poor service with my wiggle worm 4 year old Son. Turns out, the gentleman at the host stand was the manager, Brian. He was appreciative of my feedback and asked me to please stay and give them a second chance, offering to buy our meal. I reluctantly accepted since he promised a swift delivery of our lunch and was so kind. Boy, did he deliver! Our food and drinks were out with a quickness and the salad I chose was one of the best salads I've ever had in my life. I wish I remembered the name of it because YUM! I also sampled my Son's gluten free chicken tenders (VERY hard to find in a restaurant!) and dairy free ice cream. ALSO YUM! I'm very happy we stayed to eat because the food is phenomenal. What truly stood out though was Brian and his customer service skills. Cheers to him! I'd definitely eat here again. 🧡

We used to go here with our daughter when she lived in town, but hadn't been there again until recently. The manager, server, and food were good with the exception of the change in the Gluten Free bun recently to Against the Grain, which has dairy and is like a brick. Please change back to something that isn't so hard and doesn't have dairy in it!!
