The place was full of life when we arrived. The valet took the car keys efficiently (just to the right of the restaurant). We were early so went to 'death and co' across the street as we didn't feel like standing at the entrance to have an aperitif. There wasn't any seating for drinking by the bar. We were seated promptly at our reserved time. We got the chefs ten course choice (omakase) and also ordered some additional plates to try (it was a big meal). We had the first course very quickly and then there was a really long wait for the second course. The fourth fifth and sixth courses all seemed to come at the same time so our table was pretty full and that delivery (stop-start/all-or-nothing) philosophy seemed to continue for the rest of the meal. Some standouts were the lobster, the yellow fin, the 72 hour ribs. I really liked the kefir -lime/garlic/chili combos that were present on a few dishes, though it would have been good to try more flavour combos. The disappointment was the mushroom medley with crispy rice and egg yolk. The flavour of the sauce overwhelms the rest of the dish and prevents you from enjoying the flavour of the individual mushrooms. The drinks menu looked good but we stuck to the n/a drinks after having our fill at Death & co. The 'gin' yuzu and jalapeno cocktail combo was a good palete cleanser. The desert was a nice gluten free apple crumble. I'm not sure if we'll be back. It was a decent meal though a tad pricey for what it was.
