I’ve been coming here for the gluten free donuts for a few years. This morning I ordered a decaf coffee drink to go with them. I didn’t notice on the menu it said 4oz which was the size of a shot glass. That is my fault for not noticing it and it actually made me laugh when it came out. I was going to learn my lesson and drink this tiny drink. However, after trying it the decaf was burnt and gross. Instead of asking her to remake it, I asked for half a cup of steamed milk to combine it with to cancel out the burnt flavor and make it bigger. The barista was rude and told me she’d have to charge me for the milk, which I pushed back on. Eventually she gave me the milk but her anger while making it made me uncomfortable and upset. Most places would offer to make a new drink for you, not fight you over 1/2 cup of steamed milk. Normally, the staff here has been nice so maybe it was an off day but it makes me want to stick to just donuts next time.

The youngest in our party took the first bite. "yucky" they said. We laughed. Kids can be so cute. Who wouldn't like a donut? We had ordered a few different kinds - cake, yeast, vegan, non-vegan, different flavors. They all looked great, so did the storefront - hip, kid-friendly. As the adults took their first bites, we realized that our youngest was not totally correct- we didn't find the donuts 'yucky', but the flavors weren't quite right. We each managed a few bites of each donut. We'll take the rest to go, we said. They sat on the counter untouched and unwanted until they hardened and were disposed of. These were treats of sugar and flour, yes, but unlike many other donuts we've tried, vegan, gluten free, traditional, there was not that critical component of 'tasty'.
