As most people know, this is the place for organic foods and for people who have some restrictions like gluten.
Me, I'm gluten free and so do alot of shopping at Whole Foods. The really do have a large selection of organic foods and they have gotten aware of people with gluten sensitivities as they now stock alot of gluten-free items.
As usual, the more specialized the store, the more the cost. For a week's worth of food for my wife and I, it is not unusual to spend about $200. Of course, we are getting organically raised beef, lamb, and chicken and wild-caught salmon and other fish.
Their packaged foods are also best, again if you want organic or higher quality ingredients. They have numerous baked goods that are gluten-free, something unheard of just a few years ago.
But as good as I rate this store, I have to mention that Giant Food in McLean has now dedicated two entire isles for organic and health foods, and not low end foodstuffs. In fact, that will be my next review.
