Okay Chinese restaurant with Thai food offerings in downtown Highland Park. Good variety of options including gluten free dishes, but quality is only average for a North suburban Chinese restaurant. The chicken in the sweet and sour chicken dish was dry, pad Thai was sparse on egg and veggies (spouse not happy with the chicken in that dish), and the rice was a little dry/old, but my black bean chicken was fine. My son ordered Kung pao chicken and got fish instead, which was weird. I asked our waiter, who assured us it was chicken, but we're not idiots--i'm Chinese and I've eaten fish my whole life. Chicken meat is not bright white and flaky!
Dining here is probably fine if you don't have any hang ups about your Chinese food being really authentic. Prices were good for the volume of food and our server was pleasant. He basically gave my family egg drop soup for free. It'll do the job if you just want to fill up.
