I love Ethiopian food and order it quite a bit. However, the first time at Zeni restaurant. Not sure if this is just me, but I didn't like the taste of the vegetarian dishes here. Maybe it's the prep and spices they used? I couldn't finish most of them. Won't order from this restaurant again. Also, their Injera bread is NOT gluten free that is supposed to be, traditionally.

Their injera is thick and has different spices and tastes like a holiday pancake to me also has gluten free option as well which is cool. You tend to forget that it’s bread you’re eating- and I tend to run through these. I got a veggie combo w the juicy chicken. The chicken was plentiful with the sauce nice and oily cooked in their butter or oil. I didn’t like the spices in this one compared to other Ethiopian places they give you a lot and it is moist. Zenis has delicious collard greens and I love their cabbage and potatoes, has a sweet taste. These were my fav!! The yellow split peas are delicious and always a fav. I didn’t like the dark chili powdered colored veggies next to the yellow peas, I don’t like the bitterness or spices in that either. The fit fit wasn’t necessary - it’s almost like pico de Gallo mixed w injera. This was so random to me after already getting bags of injera to eat our meal with. I wish they used other lentils or split peas instead. Zenis food is delicious! I do like their veggies a lot and the thickness of their injera with how it was seasoned made me think of fall. Not sure how they’re doing since now restaurants are at 50% but I ordered from ha table near the front door and a girl hundreds of feet away took my order at the counter w the register. Our food was bagged and ready in twenty.
