We live in LA! We were visiting Solvang & came upon this resturant on our way back, because of its gluten free options specially the Fish & chips & calamari. I haven’t found many restaurants that offer gluten free versions of these two dishes. The salmon & burger was outstanding too. We really wanted to try the food but the kitchen was about to close when we called. The resturant manager “Carlos” made an exception to still serve us last minute & take our orders. He provided us with 5 star service & made us feel so special & made our night. He is by far the nicest most understand & caring resturant manager that I have met. We will definitely be back & loved the place. Thanks to Carlos!! One good person can make a huge diffrence & we are super grateful & appreciative. Highly suggest this place.

We were not ready for the phenomenal service and great drinks. The food was delicious and easily marked for gf (perfect for my wife who has celiac).
Definitely try the wings with buffalo sauce (the yuzu touch makes it bright and tart), their coconut shrimp (divine and gf!!), and their bison burger (cooked perfectly through and through).
Watch the video, see the presentation on the drinks. My wife loved her Mai tai, and my whisky drink which I cannot remember the name of, was fabulous in all the ways.
Make sure to ask for Aaron, he was awesome and made wonderful suggestions. And then go for a beautiful stroll down the pier when you’re all done. It’s a perfect introduction to Santa Barbara.

Had a fabulous meal here on the patio, which was very peaceful on a Friday night. By contrast, the interior was very lively, crowded and noisy. Great food. Wonderful, friendly service. Favorites were the crudo and beef carpaccio. Least favorite was the chicken paella but only because the amount of paprika was overpowering (I’m not a paprika fan). Looking forward to visiting again. Very easy for celiacs and gf eaters.

It’s nice the crust is gluten free but it was quite thick crust and the quiche was not freshly made…maybe it was fresh from the morning, I got there around 10:40am. But it was reheated and cold in the middle.

We didn’t realize that we were in an area in Santa Barbara called The Funk Zone, which was a very neat area that was very lively and fun to experience. I chose Empty Bowl because most noodle places can accommodate vegans, but I discovered that they didn’t really have a dedicated vegan dish. I was craving rice noodles and veggies, and the staff was very accommodating. The person who took my order was patient and helpful when I requested no tofu and extra vegetables.
However, I was disappointed with the dish I received. It was mostly noodles, with fewer vegetables than I would expect after requesting extra. The sauce was also much saltier than I prefer. They also didn’t have many gluten-free options, and when I asked about MSG, the person taking my order wasn’t sure if it was used in the food. Since I prefer to avoid MSG, this was a concern for me.
I do like the community atmosphere of the food court, as it’s nice to have options that cater to both me as a vegan and my husband, who isn’t. However, the space was quite tight, and with sports games playing, it was louder than I’d prefer. A little more quiet and space between restaurants would enhance the experience.
