This spot was a cute spot to try. It was definitely busy when we went but as much as I wanted to love the place, at the end of the day it was just ok. I had the Rosemary Ham skillet, cheese grits and Gluten free French toast.
I will say the French toast was delicious. I would definitely recommend that. It’s not often gluten free French toast is an option and the bread they chose was very good.
The cheese grits were on the salty side and the skillet was good but I guess I was expecting more flavor and it just fell a little flat.
The service was excellent and it was a cute spot.
Experience a stunning ambiance with soaring ceilings and seasonal menus, making it perfect for special occasions or casual outings.

I recently visited the Green Valley Grill for a family celebration. It could not have been more delightful. Five of us were had main courses and desserts, plus a couple of drinks and tips for around $200.
Personally, I had the Turkish Chili Braised Short Rib, which was phenomenal. Other members of my party had the parmesan chicken, the rotisserie chicken, the chef's choice duck, and the pork schnitzle, which was a huge portion. The desserts were also great
One thing to note, a member of our party had a severe gluten allergy. She was able to find items that she could eat, and very much enjoyed the cauliflower flatbread. The server was knowledgeable about the gluten allergy and thoughtful in his advice.
I would definitely return the next time in the area.
A spacious spot with a diverse menu and a classy vibe, it's perfect for both casual lunches and larger gatherings.

Since opening up shop in Winston-Salem forty years ago, Village Tavern has expanded to include eight locations. Perhaps because of its longevity, the impression I got of it was of a dated brunch/lunch spot patronized by well-to-do seniors, and so it never claimed a high spot on my to-try list. After paying the Greensboro location a visit, however, that perception has somewhat changed.
Village Tavern occupies a large building with plenty of seating, and though they keep busy, they seem set up to accommodate the volume. My wife and I showed up for lunch on a Monday and had no wait for a table in the bar area, which was nicely appointed. Think classy without feeling stuffy.
Just as the restaurant is sizeable, so too goes the menu. Apps, soups, sandwiches, salads, entrees, tacos, burgers, and pizzas are all offered here. There are gluten-free and vegetarian options, and you’d be hard-pressed to find something not to your liking. We ended up going with fish and chips and shrimp and grits. The food arrived quickly, and our server was polite and responsive throughout the meal.
Shrimp and grits is one of my go-to dishes, and no two places do it the same way. Village Tavern’s version uses white grits and bacon rather than tasso ham. Purists may quibble, but I found it excellent. The grits were creamy without being too heavily cheesy, the bacon added a hint of smokiness, they didn’t skimp on the shrimp, and the mushrooms were a nice touch. The fish and chips boasted crisp and generously battered cod. It wasn’t on par with what you’d find in a seafood bar, but it did not disappoint. The sauteed spinach – substituted in for coleslaw – was tasty as well though the fries were only so-so.
While I was wrong about Village Tavern’s décor (more appealing than I thought) and clientele (more diverse), I was right about its price point. Both entrees ran north of twenty. While the fish and chips offered a good amount of food for the money, the shrimp and grits felt like a dinner price for a lunch portion.
All told, Village Tavern is a solid jack-of-all-trades restaurant. It offers a little bit of everything and seems to execute well enough. It’s more likely to leave you satisfied than impressed, but the service and atmosphere make it worth your while.
Expect a relaxed vibe with standout dishes and a bit of a wait for meals that leave a lasting impression.

Mostly good experience!
Made a 7:45pm reservation and was sat immediately in a booth. The AC was super cold, and we were greeted by 2 waitstaff within moments.
The restaurant was very accommodating and knowledgeable about gluten containing dishes and was able to provide almost every dish with substitutions.
We ordered the following: a sazerac, glass of Pinot Grigio,a Summer of 89 cocktail, crab dip starter, roast chicken entree, and catfish entree. Things were delicious and service came at a good frequency.
A few cons from the night:
My glass of water came with a few black specks, but I just picked them out. Both cocktails were below quality (one very watery and one ultra sweet). The catfish entree came with grits and there was a 2 inch long hair in the middle of it. I decided to pick it out and ignore it.
I probably won’t come back here, but would try another one of their restaurants.
Cozy vibes with a nice atmosphere make for great conversations, plus a menu that offers something for everyone, including a family-friendly touch.

I ordered the NY Strip (rare because I anticipated it would be overcooked) and my friend ordered the penne pasta. Her serving was enough for 2 large meals. My steak was served warm pink center so it was medium, not medium rare (my hope) or rare (as ordered). I think the issue is that too many people don't know what the correct temperature is for the various levels of doneness and too many times the orders got sent back to the kitchen for additional cooking, so the cooks are conditioned to overcook the food rather than deal with plates returned. It's a common problem within this price range.
My steak quality and texture was really good, tender for a strip steak, and there was no meat glue used, just a single cut as it should be. They did a fabulous job of accommodating gluten-free needs.
Our server was kind, attentive enough, and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was really nice. You can hear one another in conversation without having to raise your voice or leave hoarse from trying to talk over the din like a lot of places nowadays.
I'd give them 4.5 stars but not 5, but Google only uses split stars for averages not for ratings.
Food was absolutely amazing! The service was quick and all the servers were so friendly. The owner was so nice. They have lots of gluten free and vegetarian options and adaptations. This is my new favorite restaurant!
A perfect spot for a quick, tasty lunch near Koury with attentive service and a focus on safety for unique dietary needs.

Angel took care of us two days in a row and was great. I have food allergies (gluten and dairy) and she was very careful. The manager also came out and clarified how to keep me safe. The food was great both times. Great lunch spot if you’re at Koury for a meeting - it’s close and the service is fast.
Experience an unforgettable meal with unique cocktails and top-notch service that makes every moment feel truly special.

The food was absolutely amazing. The service was INCREDIBLE (shout out to our server Peter who knew the menu inside and out!) and kudos to the kitchen and Peter for making it an easy experience for someone who is gluten-free. The cocktails were quite unique and amazing as well!
While the prices are certainly high compared to other restaurants in Greensboro, my wife and I both felt like we walked away from the meal completely satisfied and feeling as if we got our money's worth! It felt like we were eating in a restaurant worthy of Top Chef or another Food Network show!
Can't wait to go back again sometime soon.
Best meal I've had in quite a while. I had a great experience here, I have celiacs disease and alpha gal so it can be hard to find places that accommodate your needs. Not only was our sever super kind(Kate I believe) she was very understanding of the gluten allergy and offered a gluten free bun they could substitute. It was beyond satisfying to have a grilled chicken sandwich and actually enjoy the bread. I even asked the brand because I enjoyed it so much. I had a great experience and would return if traveling through the area again.
