Delicious vegetarian and gluten free food. Always a challenge to find somewhere that offers both vegetarian and gluten free and Green Elephant delivers. I had the summer rolls, super fresh and light. Then the Thai green curry. Tasted wonderful and also felt healthy. A treat. The chocolate orange mousse cake looked amazing as well. Very nice staff as well. Highly recommend.

Yosaku in Portland, ME, is a gem for authentic Japanese cuisine. I've been a patron for the last 8 years, and their Teuchi Soba, a gluten-free noodle made from 100% buckwheat flour, is a must-try. Unlike other soba that often contains wheat, Yosaku's commitment to quality is evident. With new ownership, there's been a subtle shift in taste, yet the restaurant maintains its excellent atmosphere and flavors. Their sushi and sashimi selection is extensive, including weekly specials. If you're lucky, you might even get to try their Otoro. For fish lovers, their Hamachi-Kama (Grilled Yellowtail Collar) is a delight, offered at a very reasonable price but in limited quantities.

As someone who is allergic to gluten and a few other common ingredients, I struggle to find good, satisfying, hand-made, authentic food pretty much everywhere. So when I say that Empire Chinese Kitchen's Orange Beef literally (and by literally I mean literally, not figuratively) made me cry - it is not an exaggeration. I had to choose between wolfing the entire plate down without taking a breath, like I wanted to, and savoring literally every single bite. The taste was sophisticated, nuanced, amazing - AND GLUTEN FREE. The waitstaff didn't blink an eyeball when I said I was celiac and did research up to and including calling the farm that is the source of their ingredients to check on another allergy for me. My dining companions similarly enjoyed everything on their meal, and I can vouch for the gluten free steamed buns, as well. I cannot wait to go back! It's an hour from my house, and I'm already counting my gas money.
With a vibrant atmosphere, this popular spot boasts delicious, unique dishes that keep diners coming back for more!

So glad we decided to eat here—good service, even better food. Panang curry was flavorful and mildly spicy, and the chicken was very tender. The tofu pad thai, which was served like an omelette, was also excellent. Gluten-free options were plentiful and clearly marked. A little on the pricier side, but we got what we paid for.
Intimate and innovative, this cozy spot features unique small plates and creative cocktails, perfect for adventurous diners.

Very cool, intimate restaurant. We ordered an array of small plates to share and they had a separate gluten free menu that I very much appreciated. Our cocktails were interesting but a bit off the mark. The sashimi was the best dish that we had and the mochi bacon was chewy and interesting.
With a vibrant atmosphere and a killer cocktail selection, this gem is a must-visit for a fresh and flavorful dining experience.

Food was unbelievable. So fresh and flavorful. Interesting menu with lots of options. Server was helpful about gluten allergies. Everything was delicious. We came with our dog and sat outside, great meal.
Experience a romantic vibe with fresh fish and generous omakase portions, making it a top sushi spot post-Japan!

-Friendly and knowledgeable wait staff
-use tamari rather than soy sauce at sushi bar (good for gluten allergies/issues.) I can't eat tamari but they were happy to omit it from my sushi set which was very kind and accommodating of them!
-delicious food and good portions
-lots of fresh fish on the nigiri omakase
-romantic/nice atmosphere (quiet)
Just got back from living in Japan for a year and this is the best sushi I've had since being there. Highly recommend!

Located in the old Fuji building, this spot offers delicious cocktails and food, but could really use a makeover.

I came across this restaurant when searching for something unique for an anniversary celebration. Upon arriving I immediately realized the location is in the old Fuji building. We entered the restaurant to be told our reservation with all of our “special” notes (anniversary celebration and gluten allergy) was not there despite multiple email and text reminders I had received throughout the day. There thankfully was an available table in the BBQ section which is what I had reserved. Upon walking into the BBQ dining room it was evident there had been little to no physical upgrades to the restaurant in at least 20 years (as a frequent Fuji guest I can tell). The floors were sticky the brick wall had splatters of something all over it, our water had a bug in it. Needless to say we were not impressed with the physical appearance of the restaurant. The food and cocktails were however delicious and made the overall experience far better than we initially expected it to be upon first impression. We ordered a dinner combo with three meats and veggies. The veggie portion was VERY small (literally a slice of an onion, three mushrooms, 2 zucchini slices, and 2 eggplant slices) but the meat portion was more than enough. We will return and hope some physical plant updates are in the future.

We finally tried Thai Tree after other gluten free friends have tried it and had no issues. Also read a review that said they have dedicated woks for gluten free orders. We missed having Pad Thai since many other local Thai restaurants no longer had gluten free options. Thai Tree was amazing. Best pad Thai we’ve had. The sauces that came with the Spring rolls were delicious. Can’t wait to try more gluten free dishes! Thank you!
