We were in the neighborhood doing some shopping and one of the shoppes mentioned Côte. It was nearby and we walked in during a busy lunch time. The accommodated us very nicely considering we didn’t have a reservation. I adore French food but never get to go when dining with my daughter who is gluten and dairy free. Ah Dishoom! We had a business brunch meeting, not our first, we love this place in the mornings. Bottomless chai and chocolate chai just keep appearing at your elbow, staff are so good. Fiancé & I shared the fish & chips. They were made gluten free for my gluten free dietary restriction (celiacs disease) and was the best fish & chips I had in Edinburgh while I was visiting.

Really disappointing experience. Made a booking for a large group for dinner and drinks. Limited space available despite communicating the group size. Very poor service. Lots of miscommunication from the servers, some saying we can order food from the restaurant and bar and some only saying bar. GF guest told they were out of all snacks and that they don’t do gluten free options only to be then told if you come back in 5-10 we may be able to help you.
Long waits for drinks and probably the worst expresso martini. Do not recommend.

First, let me say we booked this place because we thought with the history of the building and the way it presents itself that it would be a Scottish experience. No no. ... Let's start at the beginning....We received an email just a few hours before our reservation that they didn't have staff and wouldn't be able to serve us but would offer a discount when we came in. We frantically tried to find a new place. Then one hour before our scheduled time, we got an email saying they DID have a chef and we could use our scheduled time. We arrived excited and eager but the restaurant was blasting early 2000s boy band music and the wait staff was distant at best. They claim to have gluten free options but everything we asked for, they said the chef said was too stale and they wouldn't serve it. The food we finally got was not good and the service was just as bad. If you're looking for good food or a cozy vibe, this isn't it.

We came in here as it was out first day in Edinburgh. My partner is gluten-free and it looked like a great place to go. It was friendly, a warm welcome and the staff were extremely polite. They even had time to talk you you. Our waitress was called Katie who is from new Zealand. Food was fresh and delicious, very reasonably priced. The burgers were beautiful. We even went back the following night for a few drinks and sat outside. The atmosphere for both visits was great. Definitely recommend going here for food and drink. Thank you for your hospitality.
