No MSG No Garlic Foodie
We decided to visit Victoria after finding several restaurants offering vegan food. Since Be Love is dedicated vegan and also gluten free, it was my first choice. However, there wasn't that many items on the menu to my taste, but since they promise seasonal items, I had hoped that there would be some pleasant surprises. The rest of my party decided to order organic red and white wines by the glass. I chose Earthblood Tonic juice made with carrot, beet, celery, kale and ginger. It was very refreshing and looked stunning. The Mac Bowl appealed to me because it claimed to have braising greens, seasonal vegetable, and broccoli. I was warned that the sauce contains garlic, but I took a chance hoping that it would be black garlic rather than fresh garlic. Fortunately, the garlic was hardly noticeable and I was not affected. It was a very rich dish and I loved the creamy taste of the sauce. The roasted hazel nuts were strange and tasted as though the vegetables still had soil/sand/grit. I was disappointed with the scant amount of greens and vegetables, and if I had known, I might have asked for extra vegetables. And of course, I could not finish it the macaroni. If it wasn't for the 'gritty texture' I would have rated this four stars. My friends ordered the daily special gluten free ravioli with nettle. They all loved it. We also shared a platter with flatbread, cashew cream cheese, apple & beet chutney. I was only able to have one item because the rest were heavy with garlic.
Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with stunning waterfront views, making it a perfect hangout for friends or a nice treat.

Had dinner with My best friend and my mother last night. Shalena’s service was exceptional. My mum has food issues that can be a challenge. Shalena could not have been more accommodating.
Mum often avoids going for dinner due to her FOD diet
Mum was so happy to be so well taken care. Thank you for the exceptional service.
They have a special deep fryers to accommodate people who are celiac and willing to adjust a dish to suit my mums food challenges.
Cheers

They don't have many gluten free options. I ordered and was assured that the kitchen will take care. I got sick later that night as I have celiac disease. So care was not taken.
A must-visit spot with amazing soups and a menu that caters to everyone, plus top-notch attention to detail for a worry-free experience.

Paid 16 dollars (as I gave 2 dollar tip) for some good tasting chicken soup. I was disappointed to see there were only like 3 tiny pieces of chicken in the soup. Also for folks who don’t want bread, maybe provide a gluten free option or reduce the overall price of the meal. The servers were very kind and the soup tasted good but for the price point not so much!
Experience a magical garden setting where amazing dishes shine, offering a delightful twist on authentic cuisine and plenty of options for everyone!

We had the most incredible experience at Il Covo Trattoria in Victoria for a joint celebration of Mother’s Day and my 22nd birthday, made all the more memorable thanks to our amazing server, Willis. From start to finish, Willis went above and beyond to make our evening feel special and personal.
He surprised us with a complimentary drink and a delicious birthday dessert on the house, which was such a thoughtful gesture. His charming personality, genuine compliments, and fantastic menu knowledge made us feel completely at ease and well taken care of. Every recommendation he made was spot-on — from cocktails to mains to dessert.
Not only was the service 10/10, but the food and drinks were phenomenal. The team also did an excellent job accommodating gluten-free options, which we deeply appreciated.
Willis truly elevated our celebration and gave us a night we won’t forget. Thank you for making it so special. Highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat.
Experience a warm vibe with tender, perfectly smoked meats, and an impressive array of unique sides that keep everyone coming back for more.

Great celiac safe barbecue place! Everything is GF except waffles and regular buns, but they take precautions to keep celiac customers safe (changing gloves, etc). They have fantastic fried chicken which is GF, fried only with fries (also GF), and the regular bbq things. Great sandwiches, poutine, and fried chicken!

We needed gluten free and we were very happy to know that they have a dedicated gluten free menu and they use a dedicated gluten free fryer for their food. It can be really hard to find a lot of places like this, but this is by far my favourite place to eat in Victoria! I really want to thank everyone there who made it very easy to find safe food for us.

Everything looks so yummy it's hard to chose! Prices can seem a tad high for some sweet baked goods but when you know they used good ingredients and things are so fresh it's worth the little extra! Definately recommend the cinnamon buns and any of the dessert bars. Only downside I would say is no gluten-free options.
This is a great little grocery store. Good deals on the necessities and some specialty items. Their made to order sandwiches are very good and I love that they have a gluten free option.

I lived across the street for three years. It's expensive, but it's a boutique grocery store. Although they had the deal on dark chocolate almonds.
Now when I first moved there, they carried a line of "Bob's" flour, but not his gluten free pizza mix. I asked and they started carrying his pizza mix. 🎊. They still do.
Known for its fresh salads and affordability, this spot is a popular choice for travelers seeking a quick, satisfying meal, though the loud music might be off-putting.

Great salads and good prices. It's hard to find a good salad on the go and this is my go to across Canada. I've been to 8 franchises in 5 provinces this past month. Great for celiacs too! I usually dine in when on the road but why is the music so loud? Yes I'm older...not 18 anymore but I like a bit of peace while eating or trying to talk while dining. Other than that great little spot.
Red Barn have the best sandwiches made in house! They have you choose things just like other sandwich places do and they make it in front of you. It's good quality and so affordable! They also have really amazing sweet baked goods too! I highly recommend their whoopy pie! They also have great gluten-free cookies too!
Features a cozy vibe with daily-changing soups, hearty sandwiches, and a unique calendar for soup lovers.

Delicious breakfast food from a food truck permanently stationed in Cook Street Village in a space with other food trucks. We've had hash twice and it's AMAZING. I'd like to try the smoothie bowls. Good gluten free and vegetarian options. Staff are friendly and funny.
An upbeat spot known for energetic greeters, unforgettable servers, and snappy service, complimented by a warm, family-like atmosphere.

In the past 2 months, I’ve ordered the double burger with a gluten free bun twice, and I’ve been disappointed each time.. it just didn’t taste good. I wish I had more constructive criticism, and hate giving less than 4 stars. I ordered it a second time hoping it would be better, and came back because my friend loves the teriyaki rice bowl. At least the fries were decent!
I’ll update this rating if I go back and another item is more appetizing, it might be just the gluten free bun and the cheap pre-sliced cheese. Maybe the gluten bun makes it better, I know it’s hard for restaurants to cater to celiac customers and appreciate their effort.
