It's so great to have a restaurant in our town that so consistently creates and serves the community wonderful, fresh, sustainable, delicious food. And for someone who has to be gluten free, to be able to have something like the GF pumpkin pancakes of my last visit is the bomb.
This spot offers a unique dining experience with standout dishes, vibrant artwork, and a cozy atmosphere that’ll keep you coming back.

I've always been a fan...until today. I'm stuck with a gluten and dairy free diet so DG has always been a go-to thanks to their menu. It seems they no longer are so keen on being accommodating. Except for a couple of pork dishes there's no options for both without the pig and no substitution for the meats. I had an amazing server who tried to come up with something besides eggs and hash browns that I can make at home for a fraction of the $$$. I was stuck with a bland skillet with two eggs, a mountain of guacamole, and the dryest, hardest fake chorizo I could try to imagine. It was a very expensive, very disappointing, downright bad meal. (But no gluten or dairy.)
This spot is a must-visit for amazing homemade vegan eats, delicious smoothies, and a healthy vibe that keeps everyone coming back for more!

The Mystery Man
I am staying in the Duluth, MN area for approximately 4 months. I'm a vegetarian and immediately started looking for any vegan/vegetarian restaurants in the area. I located Juice Pharm, and decided to try them. So, I placed an order online with this business on 5/6/2025 in the evening to be picked up the morning of 5/7/2025 @ 10:30am as a carry out (that is why I didn't rate the Atmosphere).
Following are my reasons for the pour ratings:
1) I placed my order online so I wouldn’t have to wait in line to place an order. However, I still had to wait in line to pick up my order for walk-in people to place their order. Why??? I placed my order the day before, fully paid for with a tip and I still had to wait in line for people who were just placing their orders. This seems unfair to me. This business needs a dedicated an area for people who placed their orders online to pick up their order without having to wait inline.
2) The following is a direct quote from their website: "Juice Pharm is a cafe and juice bar in Downtown Duluth dedicated to serving healthy, fresh-made and locally-sourced food and drinks. Our 100% plant-based and gluten free menu focuses on cold-pressed juices, refreshing smoothies, fruit-filled açaí bowls and globally-inspired specialty foods.” My personal health goal is to try to eliminate add sugar from all the foods I eat. I incorrectly assumed this business would also pursue such a goal for the menu items they offer their customers.
I ordered the following as a carryout order: I ordered a Acai Bowl specifically their Blue Majik Bowl-Large (24oz) with added Cashew Butter (the Cashew Butter was stuck to the lid of the container my order was placed in) , Extra Granola, and Add-on Blueberries. After I started eating it I could tell it was loaded with add sugar-so I broke my dietary goal-not intentionally.
The base of Acai Bowls are made from acai berry puree. This business buys commercially made purees for their Acai Bowls and these contain rather high amounts of added sugar. This business doesn't disclose added sugar amounts for their menu items.
I actually contacted this business through their website via email on 5/7/2025 @ 4:36pm with the above concerns and with the following questions:
1) Which of the items in my online order had added sugar and how much?
2) Do all of your Acai Bowls have added sugar, and how much?
3) Does your Granola have added sugar, how much?
3) Do you have any menu item available for online ordering and carryout pickup that have “NO ADDED SUGAR”? If you do, please list them (implying provide me a list).
The business never replied to my email. If they would have replied, I probably wouldn't have written this negative review. This type of information would be critical to any people with diabetes.
I would like to support this local business if they would identify items on their menu that have no or very small amounts of added sugar.
Beware, If you want to limit the consumption of added sugar avoid Juice Pharm's Acai Bowls. I don't know if any other of Juice Pharm's menu items also have high amounts of add sugar.

Really nice place with lots of alcoves to choose from to get cozy in. Spacious with lots of local decor. The marketplace is a nice addition too where you could find gifts of different types. Good selection of teas and coffees as well as gluten free bakery. The burrito bowl was a good brunch option.
Really friendly and knowledgeable folks. Has a drive thru window on the side of the building as well in case you are wondering. Gluten free options and dairy free products as well. The espresso shots are 🔥 so give your drink a bit to cool or ask for a milder brew or ice if you need to. I liked the heat...lasted our entire drive up north. Worth the stop and we will be back!
Expect incredible drinks and standout service that will make your visit unforgettable, with some impressive vegan options too!

Read some reviews and figured our family would give the restaurant a try.
Where to start...........The gluten free option for the burger came with plain, white, gluten free bread. Just a typical burger with lettuce, tomatoes, and onion...not a gluten free bun. I was expecting a bit more for a $22 burger. The kids burgers and grilled cheese were fine. All came with soggy, unflavored fries..they were not good.
The "market value" steak took forever to get to our table...everyone was about half way finished with their meal once my daughter got her steak....it was plated well but for 40 bucks, I would have expected a more timely served and better cut of meat. It looked like a $12 sirloin. Not even close to a ribeye cut.
The drinks were creative and were executed well...I cook a lot and have been to pretty much every restaurant in the Duluth area....this is NOT one I suggest.
I'm all about supporting local businesses and paying extra when it's deserved. I don't post reviews EVER, but paying close to $300, I expected so much more. I hope the restaurant turns it around. They definitely have potential too.
Get ready for epic gooey cake and incredible chicken tenders that'll keep you coming back, despite the tricky downtown parking situation.

They have to have the BEST chicken tenders I’ve ever had. The breading reminds me of a Good Friday fish fry, and the chicken inside is super moist and tender. I’m coming back soon for round 2! The chips weren’t my favorite, but the gooey cake made up for them.
I’m a dessert lover and won’t recommend a dessert unless it’s worth the calories, and this gooey cake was epic! My friend ordered the lyric burger on a gluten free bun and the flourless chocolate cake and was happy with her choices too. One should never have to eat carbs and dessert alone.
Parking is a hit or miss because it’s downtown, but the annoyance is worth it to get to the food!
We were pleasantly surprised by this lovely spot this morning! We enjoyed a tasty breakfast outside with our two kids. Beautiful view, and our server Dennis was absolutely phenomenal! Gluten free options were a plus!
Nice place, decent service. Food was greatly lacking. They say their burgers are medium....but they were very well done. Dry to eat... edges were actually crunchy. I got the Garlic Mushroom Swiss burger on a gluten free bun. Side salad. Salad was okay. Burger didn't taste like there was garlic, and in general, was not tasty at all. Very messy too. The gluten free bun was cut so there was a lot of bread on top and hardly any bread underneath. Had their router which was meh .. got iced tea sheet that. We were right by the bar and it got really loud for a while. Gluten free is not marked on menu. But it does say they have gluten free buns for 2.00 more. They also have gluten free pizza crust. Probably won't go back though, did was kiind of disappointing.

Amazing food (upscale diner style). I enjoyed a salad bowl option (the Bridgman Bowl) and loved it. I have also ordered the Wild Rice Burger (separate visit) and thought it was delicious. I loved that there were options for the health-conscious person amidst company that love the burgers and fries. Coming from out-of-town, healthier options are important. Though I don't need gluten-free options, gluten-free buns were offered as an option.

Very nice place! If you have nut allergies the only thing you can get is French fries. We asked our waitress and she asked the manager who said due to cross contamination they felt it wouldn't be safe for our nut allergy person. But the desserts were amazing! Lucy's chip cookie ice cream and the strawberry cheesecake were really good! There's a lot of spicy food here! Pepper jack cheese, Chipotle, Hot peppers. So if you like hot stuff it's the place to go! There's gluten free options too.

I enjoyed having a breakfast spot in the canal area. For a Saturday the wait wasn't terrible; we were waiting for the patio and I'm assuming the reason for a few open tables (despite a wait) was due to understaffing issues. My husband was delighted to have gluten free toast as an option for his corn beef hash/over easy egg meal. My salmon hollandaise meal was cool when it came out. Tasted good, but wished it was a bit more fresh out the kitchen. A bit pricey. Our server was very attentive, friendly and checked up on us often. Dog friendly on the patio.
Charming downtown spot with outdoor tables, unique lavender latte, and a solid breakfast vibe, though it could use a bit of tidying up.

Nice coffee shop downtown. Tables available out front. I had the lavender latte and my husband had a drip coffee. He said the burrito was fantastic. They modified the breakfast bowl to be gluten free for me. Two coffees and breakfast = $48.
Note to owner: please put a table for the cream and sugars so you don't have to mix it on the trash can. Also, another person could have been used this morning to keep up with the dirty tables and dishes. A screen door would be helpful to keep the flies out of the space.
I came here with my husband & I ordered the grain salad not thinking their could be gluten/wheat in it. We ended up asking them after ordering and found their was gluten in it. The manager Dean totally made it right and redid our whole order. I highly reccomend this Panera & I have to say the way Dean handled what happened was above and beyond awesome customer service! 😊 we will be back!
Expect a vibrant place with a variety of tasty options, perfect for a break on your travels, and dog-friendly outdoor seating!

Our first time here. Stopped on our way through Duluth for takeout on the recommendation of my vegan son. Right away the (elderly) hostess was crabby. When she took our order she was slow and continued to be crabby. The place was slammed and maybe short staffed. For four food items there were two errors. The first was that upon getting back to our car with our order, for which we had waited over 30 minutes, there was meat on my nachos after Md. Crabby had asked me if I wanted any meat and I had specifically said "no, absolutely not". The second was that she gave my grandson Mt. Dew, again after a clear order of Pepsi. We will try this place again only because others seem to love it and, as a vegetarian with a gluten allergy I like it that the menu is clear about ingredients. Now, if only they can get the order right.

While up in Duluth on holiday, my husband and I discovered this delightful coffee shop and game store. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. They immediately made us feel welcome and gave great recommendations. The shop itself includes a lower level cafe and an upper level gaming area with board games and tables. Between my husband and myself, four types of coffee drinks, a pastry, and a cookie were tried. All of these were outstanding. The names of the drinks, which reference various games and pop culture, are beyond charming. I would recommend the Sylveon, not just because it is my favorite Pokemon, but because the honey and lavendar flavors were spectacular. My husband would highly recommend the chocolate gluten-free cookie and the Bantha Milk coffee. This will be one of our go-to places anytime we are in Duluth.
