So. Service was AMAZING. You have amazing staff here for servers. The atmosphere — awesome. Love the vibe and the setup and the location and just the whole design. Concept — love it, different cuisines in one location, awesome. The food was below average. Fix the food and you have a 5 star establishment here. The service and atmosphere allow you to charge premium prices (ie, $20 for a pad see ew, $15 for a roll of sushi) But the food was pretty bad. The pad see ew was below average. The sushi was well below average. For $50 for a LITE meal for 2 in Costa Rica, it’s gotta be good quality food. Fix that and you have yourself a 5 star spot. This review is mostly for the owner. Oh yeah, we also LOVED all the gluten free options and loved The gluten free pita and our server, the young gentlemen’s who’s name escapes me, did an AMAZING job and was very attentive (which is not always the case in CR lol) Fix the food and you’ll be the top spot in Monteverde and the reviews will ALL reflect it!

We stayed in Uvita two nights and visited this place three times since it was that good! Selena and the rest of the staff were so friendly and helpful. My daughter and husband are celiac (gluten-free) and this place had so many delicious options that were clearly labeled - including multiple desserts! Great food and cocktails. On the last night, we went back so that my daughter could have a birthday cake and they remembered when we showed up that it was her birthday and made her feel really special. Highly recommend Sibu!

The food was very good - fresh ingredients and well paired flavours. We ordered the beef carpaccio and then a pizza and chicken with mushroom sauce. The service was outstanding as our waiter, Damon, was very attentive. Once he knew I was gluten free, the chef made me some fresh gf crackers from the pizza dough and ensured the sweet that came with the bill was gf. Overall a lovely experience, I just wish they had had the gf tiramisu...next time!

Absolutely must visit if you’re in the Manuel Antonio area. Staff is amazing, ambiance is beautiful and the food is definitely some of the best food I’ve had in Costa Rica. Also a lot of gluten free options as well. You won’t be disappointed!!

Relaxed, fast casual environment. Straightforward menu with typical Mediterranean options. The food was okay— nothing to rave about. I have dietary preferences, so I avoided the pita bread and fries due to gluten intolerance. The build your own salad bar was awesome. The ingredients were fresh, but none of the sauces tasted appetizing. The others in my party thought the hummus tasted pretty flavorless. The chicken was a solid 6.5/10– nothing special. The atmosphere was good, though— a great place to have a laid back dinner or lunch.

I am celiac and the experience was excellent in this place. They have a gluten-free menu and management and knowledge of what cross contamination is. Super recommended as well as excellent flavor… Alex, the waiter, very professional and attentive to me and my family.

I was happy to find out there was a The Open Kitchen in Monteverde after I went in La Fortuna. The food is perfect. They offer gluten free bread and its the only place so far where they have coconut milk for latte!

We've been here twice now for breakfast. The dishes were delicious. The food is freshly prepared. The coffee is very good. They also have a large selection of gluten-free options. We sat outside because the air conditioning was on and it was quite cold. The price/performance ratio is very good. I can only recommend it.

After trying all the coffee in town, they definitely have the best drinks. Overall, little pricier than other places since they up-charge for dairy free alternatives and gluten free bread but it’s worth it. They have ~lots~ of gluten free options but they let me know they are not celiac friendly since it’s all made in the same kitchen. I am on the lower end (weak positive) of the tTG-IgA scale so I haven’t had many issues with minimal amounts of cross contamination, so if you are the same as me I highly recommend the almond flour coconut chocolate chip cake!

Stopped in for a late lunch (kitchen closes at 2 pm on Sundays) and the team squeezed our order in. Extremely gluten free friendly and the food was amazing. I got the Tuna tartar and a passion fruit mango smoothie and I’ll be going back tomorrow.

Nice people who speak great English. Super fast delivery! But the food was not great. We ordered pizzas, some regular ones and some gluten-free/vegan ones. The regulars were average, and the gluten free ones were the worst gluten free pizzas we had ever eaten honestly, and very expensive. I hate to say that, but for our taste, that's the truth. 😢

This place is a must-visit in Monteverde (even with the trek) don’t miss out!!! The food was INCREDIBLE!! It was also great because they were gluten-free friendly! We had the Senda Soup, Pork Chop, Beef Tenderloin and gluten free Churros for dessert and all of it was immaculate. We don’t have any notes, truly. 10/10 recommend for food alone, but on top of that, the service was incredible - very kind, funny and personable staff (Edwin was our server)! The atmosphere was lovely and relaxing and just all around great. The price is higher but it’s definitely worth it!

It is a hotel-restaurant. The setting is very relaxing and the service is attentive, kind and smiling. At lunchtime, we had the fish tacos: delicious! Of course, when it's busy, the service can be a little long, but we're on vacation... so we stay cool. In the evening, we enjoyed tuna with a red wine sauce, a very original combination. The restaurant also offers gluten-free breads, which is a real plus. And in the morning, what a pleasure to enjoy breakfast served facing the sea... an unforgettable experience!

I work remotely and, thanks to some newly diagnosed medical conditions, I need to find meals that are low sugar and gluten free. Guayoyo to the rescue! It is bright, clean space with just the right amount of people-watching and music when I need a break from my work. The staff is always great about letting me take up space with my laptop and making me the most delicious iced and hot teas (with honey!). My go-to dish is the Tuna Salad made with quinoa and garbanzo beans. I didn't even know I liked garbanzo beans and now I'm obsessed with them. I try stay away from the baked good because of the gluten, but the blueberry muffins and banana bread are worth having my tummy scream at me later. This is a must-do when you just want a relaxing space that feels a little homey.
