Stopped by for brunch at this cafe in Napier. The cafe was busy which is a good sign. The service was fast & friendly, and the food was very good including both sweet & savoury cabinet options for gluten free. Just returned home replete from an absolutely delicious lunch enjoyed on the verandah in balmy weather at the Birdwoods Cafe in Havelock North, Hawkes Bay. Two of us ordered the pork belly on potato rosti which was both meltingly tender inside but crisp and crunchy on the outside and two had the Birdwoods pie which were bursting with succulent beef. There was no plate envy on this occasion. Our desserts were the moist gluten free chocolate brownie, a chocolate mousse and the rhubarb cake. So so delicious because they tasted authentic as real food should.

and elegant venue - it is so much more than one expects a Cafe to be.
