It was our first time there and we were happy to find gluten-free meals and there are quite a few of them there (top).
Very friendly service and don't be put off by the prices, because the taste is great and above all plentiful.

Wow! The food is really very good, but the portions of the sandwiches are a bit too small. The gluten-free waffles are amazing!
Since we sat outside, we didn't have to wait. The service is super friendly. We would love to come back here!
A hidden gem offering a variety of homemade specialties with fresh, local ingredients, perfect for anyone seeking nutritious alternatives.

We went on a trip to Hamburg and found this small establishment with gluten-free food and plenty of vegan options! We had breakfast two days and the truth is that we were very happy. The owners were very kind to us, they explained to us in the best way possible everything they had and the ingredients. We fell in love with the poppy cake and the mini poppy cupcakes with dark chocolate and red berries, incredible!
In general it is not a cake and sweets establishment, but you can find options for breakfast (I loved the mini bread with sweet potato, walnuts and cinnamon)😊
Cozy and welcoming, this hidden gem offers beautifully presented dishes and a vibrant atmosphere, perfect for any breakfast lover!

Stopped off for lunch while exploring Hamburg. Plenty of gluten free options on the menu - my partner had the chicken tacos. Great, light and healthy, option. There are also lots of cake options available too.
This spot is a cozy gem with a beautiful vibe, amazing views, and a menu full of lovingly prepared options for everyone!

Everything freshly cooked! I love the bowls of the week. Almost always gluten-free possible and very tasty! Lovely people there and always well informed.
You can see my wild garlic bowl from the first visit in the picture. On the second visit today I was too hungry 😋
Charming café with cozy décor, a vast menu, and a reputation for delightful breakfasts and welcoming vibes—perfect for a relaxed morning.

Nicely decorated cafe, friendly service, good food. I had an omelette with goat cheese and spinach, my husband had pumpkin soup. The soup was very tasty, the omelet was good. There was also a small fresh salad with it. I discovered gluten-free rolls on the menu. There are also many vegetarian dishes. A visit is worth it!
Enjoy a lively atmosphere with generous breakfast plates that impress, perfect for various dietary preferences and a great value!

We were actually really excited - breakfast at the café in Altona, which offers vegan and gluten-free options, sounded like a perfect start to the day. Unfortunately, things got rather… disappointing.
I order matcha almost everywhere because I love how versatile the drink can be – and because to me it is more than “just a green tea”. It is a ritual, a taste experience, a real drink from the heart. What came next was all the more disappointing: a completely tasteless, strangely bitter-watery something that was probably supposed to be matcha. Perhaps. To be honest, we still don't know what was in the cup. But if it was matcha, then it was the worst possible quality.
And I really ask myself: How can a product like this even end up on the menu?
The service person was super friendly – no question about it – but when we asked, she honestly told us that she had never tried the drink herself. And that's when it rang a bell for me: I worked in the catering industry for many years, and it was standard practice for the entire team to try out new products before they ended up on the menu. Especially with sensitive drinks such as matcha or special coffee preparations, it is actually common practice to hold workshops or training courses to ensure quality and consistency.
But with this matcha? No chance.
I really can’t imagine anyone saying, “Yes, that’s delicious – that’s on the menu.”
And even though the café had gluten-free breakfast options, the food was mediocre, but quite expensive. If I'm going to spend a lot more money on a "special breakfast," then I want to get something that justifies the price - and that just wasn't the case here.
We returned the matcha (half full) but paid anyway - because we didn't want to blame the service. But I gave the feedback anyway. For me, leaving the drink on the menu like this is simply not fair treatment of guests.
Conclusion: I will not visit this cafe again. Not because the people there were unfriendly – quite the opposite. But because I think that a card also means responsibility. And because for that price I would rather buy a fair trade organic tea at the drugstore, sit down on a bench in downtown Altona - and have a better moment. Without any bitter, fishy surprise in the cup...
This cozy spot offers a unique cat-filled atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy a stress-free experience, perfect for all cat lovers!

Why can you only give 5 stars? I don't even know where to start. Everything is just right here!
The service:
Super friendly and accommodating! I called before the store opened and asked if we could come with a dog. Of course dogs are not allowed in the café but there are seats outside. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile. While I was on the toilet, my friend's dog was immediately brought a large bowl of water without us having to ask for it :)
Everyone was incredibly friendly and we started talking. We quickly realized that vegan here also means love for animals. We immediately felt at home
Animal protection:
There is a wall with animal welfare projects. It's also great that information about pigeon protection is provided <3
The food:
Everything is also available in a gluten-free option. Super cool. The portions are large and incredibly tasty. We had the burger, a pancake or pancake and ice cream. Plus two coffee alternatives. We were thrilled with the entire package. It's also great that the milk café is served in a classic way and the food served is recycled :)
The cats:
You seem to be doing well. I read a review here that people complained about being shy? Sorry, but do you also complain about people who don't want to interact with everyone? We were outside anyway and could only occasionally see them through the window. However, they were consciously attracted to some people in the café. Which is completely fine, as long as they are okay.
Conclusion: We felt at home here. It felt like we were visiting a good old friend. I will definitely come back and have already recommended the café to my fellow Hamburgers with love and from the bottom of my heart! My new absolute favorite cafe!
Thank you for being there and for people who do their work with so much love that we had a smile on our faces all day after our visit <3

Rarely eaten so well vegan.
There were 3 of us.
We took five starters, each a main course (2x burgers & 1x curry) and two desserts + two peanut butter shots.
We were super full, everything was super tasty, the atmosphere was great, the service was nice.
Is gluten free 👍🏻

Very tasty, with small deductions
The food was really tasty and there were great gluten free options on the menu 😍I was really happy about that! The portions could be a bit larger for the price. We were served by two waitresses: one was incredibly friendly and attentive, the other was rather distant and unfortunately not very attentive. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the visit overall!

Great cappuccino! The coffee beans smells and tastes good, I really love it. Recommended cafe to enjoy the best coffee with super homey atmosphere surrounded by cute cactus 🌵 The location is also easy to reach in the city center. I would love to get some gluten free cakes or bread here soon!

Very nice atmosphere and above all great food! We were looking for a café for breakfast that also had gluten-free alternatives and found it here. There is gluten-free bread and also a gluten-free selection of cakes. We sat really nicely in the sun and even though it was very busy, the waitresses were very attentive and there were no unpleasant waiting times.
Enjoy a cozy vibe with delightful homemade treats and a breakfast that hits the spot, all at fair prices.

Super delicious breakfast at fair prices and great homemade cakes.
Lots of gluten free options.
Very friendly service, you can tell that the owners put their hearts into it.
We came for brunch on a Monday morning and had to wait 1.5 hours (!) for our two breads. The very friendly service employee informed us when ordering that it might take “a little longer”, there is a “Good things take time” lettering hanging on the wall and the back print on an employee’s T-shirt reminded us to chill (“Chill and enjoy the moment” or something similar) - so obviously something is going very wrong in time management here. The other guests were also not served or given drinks or food for ages. We felt really sorry for the winemaker because there was obviously a lack of staff. Unfortunately, the food wasn't convincing either. Unfortunately, the extremely bland tasting gluten-free bread from the pack from Schär ruined the whole dish (in this case avocado/peanut butter).
A must-visit for fluffy bagels, great vegan options, and unique toppings that make for an unforgettable snack experience!

The best. Period. Not only do they offer GF bagels for us gluten-free girlies, but I’ve also tried just about every bagel on the menu while living in Hamburg. Whether you’re grabbing something on the go or dining in, New York Bagel is hands down the best choice.
Vibrant ambience with great music, quick service, and a solid mix of quality vegan options make this spot a popular alternative to coffee chains.

Great, great ambience, good music, everything gluten free, and also vegan dishes. Super fast service and despite the stress, the service is super nice. All prices are okay and the quality is right.
I think it's much better than Starbucks...
The coffee tastes really delicious. Loving decoration for cappuccino. Also delicious croissants and cakes. Many are even vegan or gluten-free. Very modern, new furnishings in Scandinavian style. Super friendly barista.

A very nice café with some unusual drinks. There are some matcha latte variants such as strawberry and passion fruit. There is also a large selection of cold and hot drinks. The hot chocolate is very tasty.
Food-wise there are croffles, sandwiches and a little cake. The croffles with vanilla matcha pudding and Nutella are very tasty.
There are many vegetarian and vegan versions. The croffles can also be ordered in the gluten-free version. Instead of cow's milk, there are several other types of "milk".
However, the prices are quite high.
The café offers quite a lot of space and the staff is very friendly.
Breakfast here shines with unexpectedly delightful scrambled eggs and a special touch for those seeking unique rolls upon request.

For breakfast I was given gluten-free rolls upon request! Since it wasn't in the reviews or on the menu, I was very happy and finally got my fill with breakfast. So for everyone who also searches the reviews for gluten-free - there is! 😊 (But I don't know about the cakes). The scrambled eggs were also really the tastiest I've ever eaten.
Classic breakfast vibes until 4 p.m. with a chill atmosphere, fair prices, and a focus on animal welfare and fair trade options.

Nice ambience, lovely service and not as fancy as the other shops, but the classic breakfast favorites (until 4 p.m.!). Animal welfare and fair trade at, in my opinion, fair prices for Winterhuder conditions. Gluten-free and vegetarian/vegan alternatives. I like being there :)
Small ice cream café in Falkenried in Eppendorf away from the hustle and bustle with a selection of creative ice cream flavors that change daily. Including many allergy-friendly alternatives such as pineapple coconut, cashew or sun kisses.
What I particularly like is that the ice cream is excellent for allergies and there are many gluten-free vegan varieties.
The service is extremely friendly. And at €1.40, the classic price for Hamburg Eppendorf/Eimsbüttel.
Clear recommendation 5/5
